For eg:I actually like the routine
I like the free medical card
I like the free nutritionist
I like that I can manipulate insulin and use it to my advantage
I like explaining to people that I have diabetes and how it all works
I used it as a chat up line on many occasions and it gets a rely good conversation going
I like how it makes you disciplined and keeps you head I focus with reality I also enjoyed it during party years whenever I felt sick or bad but as long as my sugars are right I'm ok just like in the gym if I feel low in energy ill test my sugar but if its not my sugar and its just me feeling tired then I know it's ok to push even harder its like a little man saying well your ok here man but stop ****** about and get back into it
Just wondering if anybody else was happy with diabetes because diabetics give diabetes such a hard time sometimes if you want to live strong and healthy you must except you diabetes and be friend him ,

I agree with Sarah. Im type 2 or so they think at mo bn at it nearly 12 months n its the pits! Eat v low carbs n not enough to feed a bird feel hungery but still BS levels not right. Get yet more pills feel awful like death eat more carbs with pills n still not in range but dont eat for few hours n nearly or done get hypos!
I see ur type 1 mayb life is better for u! I hate it with a passion bn off work 5 wks now cos i have felt sooooo awful! So its lost me money as well n im a single mum. Whats good or likeabke about that!?

Am struggling to come to terms with this and like your positivity, but the silver lining is I've lost a stone in weight since Christmas..

diabetes saved my life, without its symptons i would never have known about my ridiculous blood pressure and cholestrol, but everything else sucks

I have mulled and mulled but nope, can't think of a thing. Agree with previous comments- a similar post to this got a smidge out of control. Its obviously a contentious topic and touches a raw nerve.

I like the fact my diagnosis gave me the kick up the backside I needed to get a bit fitter. I go to the gym, twice a week (well OK not for last two week as I've had my gallbladder out and got another three or four weeks before I can get back in there) and in the last year lost about two stone. I've found that since I lost weight, my BS are normally under 6, and at my last visit the nurse said to try and keep under 6.5. I eat a much healthier low carb diet and I can honestly say that I feel 100% better than I did a couple of years ago. I know it's hard to be positive for some people and it took a while to get used to the diagnosis, but I hope it gets easier for those of you who find it hard going. :thumbup:
