Hya tealeaves, the full dosage of Metformin is (currently*) 2 X 500mg tablets taken twice a day so 2000mg in total and that will typically lower bg levels by a maximum of 2 mmol/L. So one 500mg tablet a day will only bring your bg down by around .5 mmol/L which is negligible.
