one really must refrain from making assumptions.

I'm an innocent little fellow who has a clear recollection of creasing
myself laughing on being told that one as a rather young boy.

I'd no idea there was an alternative version but, pray don't enlighten me,
my happy memory must remain intact dear chap, right up to the very
day I pop my clogs.

Nothing to do with this really but reminded me of an old,and very respectable friend who, when in his garden working, lustily joined in the 'hymns' being sung on the green by a group of chapel members. Unfortunately he was singing the 'military' versions much to the amusement of all passers by!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Being a medic on a rugby team means I am frequently exposed to 'alternative' lyrics .... the challenge is definitely in not breaking into the dodgy version when the proper version is being sung (even if you can't help but sing the rude lyrics in your head!)
