Ketones scary night!

Hi
How long can ketones stay in urine for? Im type 2 but last few days ive had high BS that take hours to come down to 10s. Last nite i was at 19.5 for 3 hours so tested fir ketones n was shocked to see it go purple darkish to. So i freaked out rang NHS direct who said drink drink n drink n test more often. So had a bad nigth feeling ill sick achy etc n this morning ive only got trace n BS 12.8. So question is will that be end of them now or what. Can they really go that fast or should i check again if BS rises again?

Hi Sue,

Sorry to hear you had a scary night. How are you now?

If your levels stay high or even highish keep checking for keytones. If you start feeling sick and rough again seek medical advice again.

Have they established if you are really a type 2 or not?

Hope you feel better soon.

Well still high BS but then again im always above range. Tho they have bn staying higher for longer now. Ketones seem to come n go but highest by end of the day. I feel so ill tho so staying off work 2day n trying to get some help n advice from my team but its like trying to get blood out of a stone!!! :-(
Yes ive had tests for that n i dont have anitbodies so im type 2.
