Hi Everyone, so here it is. Last night I felt really tired and so slept in until 10am today and my fasting levels were 8.1
I regularly eat 2 eggs for breakfast but today my 2 hour post prandial was 9.1. Can anyone shed any light as to why they would be so high. By the way today I do feel a little ******, very tired again, thnaks, Deb

Sorry for posting this everyone, I went out to eat and I just remembered that I forgot to ask for no salad dressing and so ate what was sent. It must have been that that sent me a little hyper, I'm back to normal now. Couldn't understand why it was so high then remembered, feel a little foolish now but never mind, Deb x

Not foolish, it is good to check every type of food to see how it affects you. Foods affect all of us differently. I eat a lot of eggs as we have our own chickens. They have no abnormal affect on me so I would keep eating them.

Hi, it was probably your late getting up that was the problem and not the eggs or the night before to blame! Did you know that your liver releases glucose when you dont eat? Maybe you didnt so getting up late, no matter what you've eaten the night before WILL push your sugar levels up. It's the same if you dont feel like eating, say when you're unwell or just dont want anything. The advice I've been given may help you, my Diabetic Specialist Nurse told me to inject my long acting insulin when I get up. That way you will have a base of Insulin in until you have your breakfast and your liver will have something to work against keeping your levels about normal, at least until yoy eat and then take your rapid, which by the way you probably wouldnt need if all you have is protein and no carbs! And your levels depend on other factrs too, your lifestyle, your sleep etc. At least it was in single figures so I wouldnt worry too much, esp if you're normally more controlled, it's your body's way of keeping you from dropping too low and then having a hypo! I hope this post will help.

Hi Deb,
Are you a type 1? Are you on insulin injections?

Kind Regards

Sarah

Hi Everyone, all is back to normal now, it was just a glitch with the salad dressing. I am type 2, no insulin and thanks missy789 I do understand about "liver dumps" and of course I had stayed in bed too long, Deb x
