So, yesterday's BG readings

Waking 4.0, 4 units levemir, 1 unit Novorapid, breakfast of porridge
2 hour/21km run - carbs going in during the run, between 4.7 and 5.9
Pre-Lunch 9.9 after recovery sports drink
lunch of eggs on toast, an apple and a few strawberries
Post lunch 5.9
Pre dinner 6.2, 2 bowls of mixed bean and lentil stew, small piece of malt loaf
post dinner 6.1
Pre bed 13.7

Pre bed test and 10 units levemir was a bit later than normal.
Could the lentils be to blame for the high pre-bed reading?
If you take the normal carb-counting approach you'd ignore those lentils and beans, which is odd to me as they have massess of carbs, just low GI and slow release.

Back to 4.2 this morning.

Cheers

I count carbs in lentils & beans, for sure. I was taught not to count carbs in veg apart from beans, sweetcorn, root veg & tomatoes, which can contain quite a lot.
