Disabled students allowance

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has applied for this? I was told by my student services that I am eligible so I have applied. However I do not feel like I have a disability and I feel a bit stupid for doing it. They send out an assessor to assess my needs whilst on my course and again, I feel a bit stupid about this as I feel normal and fine. I was just wondering if anyone else has any experience in this?

no I did that aswell!! I didn't want to but it means that the Uni can go that extra mile for you when it comes to exams and stuff! to be honest it comes in quite handy and it's free so just accept it haha x

Ha! What was your needs assessment like though? I don't know what they could possibly need to come and assess? And what did you get? I'm on my postgrad pgce so don't have any exams but it is one of the most intensive courses! I didn't have diabetes when I was an undergrad as I was only diagnosed a year ago so haven't been through this procedure before.
