Hi

I am a T2 and currently controlling my BS with a strict diet and exercise.

I have recently injured my knee whilst cycling (resulting in significantly reduced exercise) and many has recommended glucosamine supplement as potentially helpful.

I've done a little research and it seems that glucosamine may have a negative impact on BS and insulin resistance. I appreciate that there are differing opinions on this, however, I would rather not take a risk.

I am considering using a gel (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Optima-Health-Glucosamine-Joint-Complex/dp/B002K5RE9S ) and would appreciate any thoughts if this reduces or eliminates the risk.

Many thanks

I've used glucosamine tabs for many years due to neuropathic pains without any adverse effects but just for advice if using gels such as ibuprofen gels etc always remember you can still overdose on these just as you would the tabs themselves so always check the ingredients and dosage leaflets. I say this after a friend of mine had her husband massage her back with such a gel and ended up in hospital through overdosing.
