Hello Everyone i am 16 and a type 1 diabetic and have been for 1 and a half years now .
For me when im going out i have to take so much with me , i would need a handbag to carry all the stuff in when im going out.
One of the very simple ideas i thought of would be Mini Isulin Pens with say maybe 90 units of insulin in maybe someting you could even have in your wallet.
the problem for me the pen is too big it just sticks out of my pocket and awkward to walk with but i think having mini insulin pens could change this.

Leave a vote if you think this could make a difference.

Great idea, especially when using a small evening bag at parties!

Interesting as I Googled the web 2 weeks ago searching for such a thing but couldn't find anything. My Novo 300 unit cartridges last me 4 weeks and I would be happy to have a cartridge half the size and a pen that would actually fit my pocket

Years ago insulin pens were made to take 1.5ml cartridges and were smaller and then times changed and they became 3ml which was ok for twice daily regimes but not for bolus basal

I do think and feel guys have a harder job than the ladies to be fair .
When it comes to insulin pens etc AND the carry around with you
daily suitable diabetic kit man bags .

Us girls have our handbags to 'hide' these away in .
You guys havent got this opportunity !
Voted a yes - great idea to consider a mini insulinpen for you gentlemen .
Top idea - me tinks!

anna29,
I love this idea and I'm not a guy!! I am a jeans and T-shirt girl who hates having to haul a handbag around with me all the time.....until I was diagnosed I rarely carried one and was prone to leaving them behind when I did :banghead:

A small pen that would fit in a jacket pocket would therefore be great, would just need to shrink my Accu-check Mobile to fit in the other pocket too!! :)

Is that your's in your avatar ? mo

I use a kipling ladies handbag [ they're designed to carry up to 5litres of weight in them ]
Stretch unbelievably and I can wear across the body too , leaving my hands totally free .
Not cheap - but are worth the extra cost !
