Type of diabetes

been changed to metaformin 500mg and constantly in the loo immodium didnt help so my question is does this get better or am i always going to have this..cant eat at the moment and just taking fluids

Metformin has this unfortunate side-effect, it should get better over time.

Make sure you take it with the first mouthful of food of whichever meal you are taking it with. If the side-effects persist and you are uncomfortable with the side effects then discuss switching to the SR version with your GP. The SR version takes longer to digest and this has the effect of reducing the side effects.

Bad manors, exercising, not being able to eat what i want, being skint, getting up.
I was the same at the start but it's settled now after 3 weeks. Hope that helps.

I'd been taking metformin for a long time and 2 years ago started getting same problem as you i.e sudden dash to bog,taking the sr version has improved the situation and yes I think they cost more as a recent stay in hospital they were reluctant to give me sr had to get my own via home
