That is the only one that has been held in reserve, for several reasons. It was not approved by NICE when I needed it, it could have been prescribed anyway but if I did not take to the pump, it was a backup and all people who are on pumps have their pens and cartridges of their previously used insulin to switch to should any problems arise. Degludec is my emergency back stop. I haven't used it yet, don't have a clue what my dose would be, but I have 5 cartridges in the fridge in case the worst comes to the worst.

As no-one has been able to give a clear cause or reason for this, I think there are those who are concerned in case the same happens with my short acting insulin. I have only ever been on Actrapid and NovoRapid, but I have my fingers crossed.
