Can any suggest a soft drink I can have down the pub that is not loaded with caffeine or sugar?
I am not allowed grapefruit or cranberry juice as I am on warfarin
Alcohol is not banned
I can go up to two pints of beer or one glass of wine
Making a 187ml glass of wine last an hour or so is not easy

You can lengthen the wine with soda water, or have fizzy mineral water with ice and a slice.

I had only long sodas and lime last weekend when I spent a few hours at my local. I was a bit worried that the lime cordial would have too much sugar in it but, looking at the label, it has remarkably little. My BG after several pints of that and a decent walk back home was actually below 4.

I love bitter lemon - slimline of course. I also enjoy tonic water but I don't know if this is ok with your medication. Can you get sugarfree ginger beer? I love it with a dash of lime juice. Haven't had it for years. I can't advice on alcoholic drinks because I don't like the taste and never drink them.

I have just looked up "sugar free ginger beer" on Bing
It is still around, you can even make it yourself

Oh good I will have a look thanks.

I remember my father making gingerbeer, with funny results. I was a child at the time. He decided to bottle up the beer and when he took the top off the container the contents exploded in his face and his beard was covered in foam!! Happy days!

I'm always worried that they won't give me the slimline version or diet version of something and so prefer to drink alcohol, that way I know what I'm getting

Morrisons sell sugar free ginger beer and it tastes fine but it has the sweeter sucralose added to it. Some will find that a problem?

I'm a sparking water kinda gal.

Won't touch the artificial sweeteners if I can avoid them. Although I consider the sweeteners in sugar free jelly a reluctant necessity, I draw the line at sugar free sodas - seems so pointless and chemically.

...... especially with soda.

Sounds good. When I was diagnosed in the early 80's there was very little about in the way of soft drinks, there was 1 Cal and Tab (?) so Scweppes Slimeline Bitter Lemon drink was the best option available, still like it to this day although fizzy pop tends to make me feel bloated so rarely drink it.
