Pumps and upgrades ?

Hi :) im on the minimed paradigm pump 715 since January this yr and I wanted a pump..just not this one..I would have preferred an animas pump (they seem to be more reliable and modern).
So, does anyone know
(1)when I can get an upgrade?
(2) if I can change to an animas pump from a medtronic? And has anyone done the same ?

When I got my first pump I was at a hospital and they only offered minimed, after a couple of years I moved back to my local hospital but hadn't thought about when it would be due an upgrade so it ended up when I was in hospital and a diabetes nurse realised it had been 5 years and should have been replaced after 4. This hospital offered me a choice of what I wanted so I switched to accu chek about 18 months ago, though I now wish I had gone for the animas!
