I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are any hormones involved in increasing our blood sugars during acute illness apart from cortisol?Are there other hormones/chemicals that play a role in increasing our blood sugars?

During stressful situations, epinephrine (adrenaline), glucagon, growth hormone and cortisol play a role in blood sugar levels. Stressful situations include infections, serious illness or significant emotion stress.

Although this article is aimed at Type 2s I would think the same hormonal response would also relate to Type1s.
