Question about Eye Screening

Hello,

This is my first post and I am wondering if others have experienced the same.

I had my first eye screening yesterday (diagnosed T2 beginning of August). The nurse used two types of eyedrops and she said that my eyes seem sensitive and she escorted me to the waiting room as my eyes kept closing, even with sunglasses on.

I understand that the effects are supposed to last for 6 hours, my eyes were extremely sensitive, still dilated with poor vision 12 hours later. Today, my eyes are still very sore, having trouble focussing etc., and my eyeballs just seem sore if this makes sense.

As this is my first test I don't have anything to compare it to, and I don't wish to trouble the eye clinic if this is quite normal.

Many thanks.

Peony

You could be sensitive to one or the other of the eye drops. My OH got som metal in his eye at work, the hospital put drops in both eyes and he couldn't see out of either eye. The were the ones they used as standard, and he's had nots put on his records. Mention it next time you go, or speak to your GP about it.

Hi Peony,:)

Best ring the eye clinic and explain all your eye symptoms, also remind them that the nurse used two types of eye drops.
They should give you some medication to relieve the soreness etc;.
It does appear that you may have a allergic reaction to the eye drops.
The eye clinic would prefer you let them know sooner rather than later to give you their best attention regarding your treatment.and satisfaction.

Thank you for your replies. My eyes seem to be better today, but I will let the nurse know.
