Unfortunately this could be lactic acid build up. I assume you warm up as well as down.
I see a lot of people on this site are on low carb and fructose free diets, as an athlete having a glycogen reserve is excellent for muscle recovery.

This is only built up in my opinion by eating carbs and High Fructose Corn Syrup. Do not overdo it as this is only my opinion as an ultra runner and not a scientist

There are several conditions that this could be.
Best to see your G.P. for a diagnosis as we are not qualified to give one.

As a diabetic and an ultra runner, I actually said could be not is and am probably more qualified to give advice on running as a diabetic than most. But hey what are forums for when advice on personal experience are edited just in case. I'm assuming the person asking the question has the freedom of being able to look at all of the information put before them to analyse and then choose the best possible cause, the reason it is called a Doctors Practice is because?

Hi and welcome!

Have you had any advice from a doctor?
When do you get the pain? Is it after any particular activity, or after inactivity?

Your profile doesn't say whether you are type 1, 1.5 or 2, or whether you are on medication.

There are many different reasons why diabetics get problems with their feet and legs. We have threads on here about neuropathy, vitamin deficiencies and other things, so maybe have a read of the forum. But your doctor or a specialist will need to make the final diagnosis.

You need to see your gp and get a proper diagnosis, if medication is needed they will prescribe the best one for you.

I have bad bad cramps in my calves when I walk if my blood sugars have been high, and got a lot of cramp before I was diagnosed. In fact I've got a throat infection and my BG has been at 15ish for around a week, today I went for a short walk to bring them down a bit, and now cramp so bad I can't sleep or walk!

How are your blood sugars?

I only asked as prior to my diagnosis I had been diagnosed with vascular decease which was only in my left leg.
Maybe seeing the Gp & just asking if they can check your pulses in the hips, knees & feet, just to rule this out.
