does anyone else get days where it's high and doesn't seem to come down , just done my last reading and it was 17.4

Yup, and often there is no logical reason.
Remember though, the odd spike isn't too problematic. What were your other readings like/day average?

I see you are T1,
from what I have read here..ring your DR ..keep using quick acting to correct.. test for ketones..
do you have sick day rules, like these?

That isn't too bad really. I set my personal targets as 4-6 before meals and 6-10 after meals. Yup, sometimes it shorts really high; once a spike to 17.4! Then again sometimes I end up with a post results lower than the pre. Bloody confusing at times.
If you're getting constant better values that is good.

What is your pre-meal averages?
