Thanks for the advice . Lately she's been runnung high in the morning.... s9metimes up to 412, even when dinner reading is 170 or lower. This morning she woke high...317, but by 5:30 had dropped to70. I know brittle means hard to control but she is watching carbs and sugar. Dr have tried lantus in morning but then she ran way to high by bedtime. Now even when low at bed and taking lantus at night she still wakes high most mornings. Endro here says most units in shots for my mom are really trial and error because the endro is just as baffled with trying to control her brittle diabetic state.

or ask endo about a 12hr intermediate background, that can give a higher dose at night and a lower one during the day ..along with a quick acting for meals and corrections
