Hi shan....I've not been on site for a while. My bs is still around 6.0 or just under. The orlistat definately works for me. Went to doctor for 12 weeks result and according to his scales I'd lost 14lbs...mine said 16lbs. he was as pleased as I am and we talked about refering me to a specialist for my hernia but i said leave it for another year and see if I can lose more weight. So he's given me the next 12 weeks target....12lbs. I have to go back to nurse every 4 weeks for weigh in and more tablets and then to doctors on 19th June. I feel much better in myself. I don't get as tired as before but when I am totally knackered it takes less time to recover. I also seem to have more energy too. We discussed how much weight that I wanted to lose . I said another 4-5 stones roughly. He agreed with me that trying to get down to the 10 1/2 stone the diet sites say I should be is ridiculous as it wouldn't be healthy for me.
Had to laugh though as I've been buying new underwear, tops and skirts....all much smaller than before. I can actually say I've now got a waist!!!! :D

Well done Gilly H,Your doing really well.I have hit a problem with my weight loss,my Neuralgia has come back and the new med's the have put me on cause weight gain there called Lyrica i've read about them and every one says how much weight they have put on so i'm worried, plus when i asked the doc's if the Orlistat mix with the new med's they seemed as if they were not sure, its a pity as i just got weighed and i had lost 4lb,so i thought untill i get rid of this bad pain i better leave off the Orlistsat then if the pain goes go back on it but i will drop on to this thread to see how your doing, keep up the good work, shan x

Sorry to hear that shand. Is the pain any better? Hope so.
Well, in all I lost the required 14lbs on the dr's scales. Now it's 16lbs so far. I really need ideas to lose more weight though. I've changed lunch from salad sandwiches to salad. Not so many ibs cramping/bloating since then either. Let me know how you get on though :)

Any better Shand? Fingers crossd for you. i weighed myself this morning and I've lost another 2lbs. Was at a standstill for a while but seems to be improving. Sat and thought about it too. I'm actually feeling much better in myself and more confident. Compliments from work colleagues works too. I can't see the difference myself by just looking but colleagues have.
Losing the weight has also slightly helped my other health problems. Chatted with doctor about target weight and told him that I would enver be as light as I should be. He asked me my target and I said another 5 stones or so. doubt it but will try. :D

Well done Gilly. Keep up your good work.

Your target of losing 5 stone is great. I find that giving myself an achievable target such as get below a certain weight, say 1 stone less than now is a far better way of looking at things. You achieve your aims far quicker and get that 'buzz' when you hit that target. Then you just set another one and off you go again. :D

I agree Cugila. My next target...as discussed with doctor...is 12lbs in 12 weeks. We talked about the weight I'd be satisfied with and I said another 5 stones. would be brilliant but I'm taking it a step at a time. Feels brill though!! :D

Your doing so well Gilly H i think you will hit your target just takes time, when you think about a 5 stone target it seems miles away but i bet you thought the weight you are now seemed so too but your there, :D ,best to set your self smaller stort time targets at a time. Thanks i'm feeling a tad better i re-started the Orlistat last week but while i was really ill i put on 5lb and this new pill Lyrica reads that you put on weight with it so i've got a bit of a battle with it,i've managed to take 3 of the 5lb back off that i gained so fingers crossed i might have some hope and i managed to excercise yesterday and my bloods went down to 5-3mg lowest yet for me :D ,i'm off to see the diabetic nurse in a bit for my three month bloods so i'll post later what it is,keep it up Gilly H ,shan x

Hi shand. sorry I haven't been on site for a while. I've been working 6 days a week for months and I think it finally caught up with me. Still working overtime each saturday until they stop it. Double money for working and can even get paid travelling time. Need money for jobs in house and next months holiday!!
Well, I did manage to hit 1st months target of 14lbs by their scales. I fell off the wagon when I was on holiday last month.....but didn't weigh any heavier then last time I saw nurse. Just weighed myself this morning and I have lost, according to our scales, another 5lbs!!!! Due to the heat I've only been eating a small bowl of Special K for breakfast, fruit and yoghurt at work and then small cooked meal at night. Mainly vegetables and a little piece of fish or meat or smal pie. So it seems to have done the job as I was at a standstill.
How are you doing shand?
I've been buyig new clothes lately and I've gone down another size in t-shirts......at Bon Marche anyway. A few years agi I couldn't even get them on!!

Hi Shand. It's been a while since we chatted. Things are going okay with the orlistat. Lost 31lbs in 7-8 months but hit a plateau at the moment. Don't think I'll hit the target this time though. Be careful though with orlistat and what you eat. Probably me though. At one point all I could eat at work was fruit and yoghurt. Loads of fruit!!! I was in agony for about 4 weeks with severe bloating, constipation and pain bad enough to almost make me pass out!! that combination will not be repeated though it did help me to lose weight. Now I'm going to have to come up with a better way to lose the weight.
I don't eat so much...especially at work...but some nights I just can't stop eating especially fresh bread with clover .
Just take it slowly and you'll lose all the weight again. If the doctor stops the orlistat I'll demand a referral to the weight clinic at the local hospital...for everything!! Next week I have to have my 6 motnthly diabetes mot. Hate those as there's always something for them to moan about. Rest of day off and then back to nurse the Friday for weigh in....help!!
Freedom the week after!! Week off work..no idea what i'll be doing. Thinking of checking out one of the newly renovated parks. It's several miles long with a lot of heritage spots.
