Brothers birthday so was faced up against this

No idea how I woukd even begin to start calculating the carbs.

For my actual question though, how low is too low for your night time reading?

As to your question, depends on if you have any IOB or you know whether your basal insulin is set at the right dose, if in doubt go to bed a little higher and do an early morning bg test.

Was just curious as to what other people think about theres. Mines just come in at 5.1 and that's the lowest Id like it

Well the lowest I'm happy to go to bed on is 5.5mmol and ideally like to be below 7, but I only do this as I know my basal rates are OK, if your unsure then have a small snack to get your bg levels up a bit.

I set my alarm for 3:30am every night and get up to test as I used to get a lot of night time lows. It's just part of my routine now.

I like to go to bed between 6-8

Any chance of posting me a piece of that cake yum!

I have a well defined basal dose now so I'm happy to go to bed as low as 4.5mmol: fortunately I don't generally drop during the night and I either rise a small amount or stay steady. I hate going to bed above 7.

I test every night at 3am and 4 out of 7 nights i am low.
After 3am my bg starts to rise, this is despite me adjusting my lantus dose and the times that I inject. Next week I am moving to the insulin pump so hopefully I will get it sorted soon.
It would be worth a hypo at 3am if I could have a bit of that cake!

The pump wil sort that out for you lisacp, I have two separate basal rates which keeps my bg level throughout the night, so much so that I can even have a lie now as where on MDI I'd be heading for double figures

I was just the same i have now gone on a pump .only last week and it has already sorted out my night time hypos with 2 night time basal rates.
still fine tuning .

When i'm not really sure about the carbs, i start with some units that i'm sure i'm going to eat and i adjusted at the end, DAFNE said if the amount is high inject twice!!!
