I'll be there :D

I'm really happy - when I first set the target back in November (it's based on my body fat being between 12 and 15% rather than BMI as I have a large bone structure and a fair amount of muscle), it seemed completely unachievable but bit by bit I saw my weight dropping and saw the target coming into view and realised I could indeed hit it

The amazing thing is, the initial calculation predicted I'd hit my target at the beginning of May so my diet has worked out exactly as planned :)

ie diet plan + phil power= bulls eye on target.

Fasting today (Sat) just before 7am : 6.3

Had very weird reading(s) yesterday - woke up late again and was just about to test when the door bell rang - got a little blood onto strip and the meter complained that there wasn't enough, so I left the duff strip in the meter while I went down to answer the door, and thought no more about it. Came back and re-tested - and
@s_k_s
fasting Friday at 11.20: 7.0

However when I was checking last might I found a result from 5 mins before my successful test - a very low 5.8 - so in spite of announcing there wasn't enough blood, the meter had actually done some sort of test. :wideyed::wideyed: - I've never seen this happen before but then I've generally replaced the strip almost immediately. I wonder if this was a fluke or it does actually make some attempt at checking given enough time even if it claims there's too little blood?

7.0 mmol / L this morning.
4.6 mmol / L at bed time.

What was different?
Well bed time was bang on midnight - good but, could be better.
Sleep was good - only woke once and got a good eight hours.

Suspects:
Didn't have usual bed time food.
Too many carbs yesterday - well over the 35g limit at 186! Note - this is an intentional thing!
Potentially slept past dawn phenomenon.

As an aside I'm wondering if the 4.6 mmol / L bed time reading is reactive hypoglycaemia related? Must go "gen up" on that.

@nomistheman
I normally see a biggish drop around midnight that I've tended to associate with my dinner time (7-8pm) dose of metformin starting to do its job. I don't usually see it at this time if I've forgotten to take the tablet until later in the evening. But I think that you're diet only now??

@Robbity - Yes, totally off the medication now - was only ever on Metformin.

I think it's a mixture of things. I had a lot of carbs between 6pm & 7:30pm and at 9:15pm I ate a vegetable stir fry with two large eggs kind of scrambled in to it - a bit like egg fried rice but, with stir fry rather than rice - if you get what I mean.

When I tested at bed time I was seriously expecting a reading over 8 mmol / L so wonder about reactive hypoglycaemia. It is just a thought at the moment as I have no pre prandial or proper post prandial readings - so no real evidence to judge on.

Morning campers

4.5 fasting. Ketones P = 3ish, b = 1.9.

End of fat fast experiment. Very happy with results now to increase carbs and protein gradually and decrease fat % sensibly. Def useful as a tool against plateaus. Been interesting looking at the relationship between bloods and ketones And massive weight loss as well (although I should factor in to put circa 40% back on) accordingly.

Weather is holding. Dog walk on the beach to follow and then off to surrey for a bbq. it'll be very greek so chicken for the vegetarians.
You vegetarian? Ok, I'll make you lamb... :hilarious: My Big Fat Greek Wedding... so true to life... :) We loved it...

5.3 and its blooming freezing today......well 10 degrees with a windchill of a LOT....
Nasty.... :( When I came out of the Thai massage place this morning my car was reading 44 degrees - under a palm tree... sigh... it was only 39 in my lovely green garden though... :) No happy medium, obviously.... unless we all go to Barbados - perfect weather there.... till the hurricane season hits... :)

Hello All,

Hope you are all well and fitting fit. :D

I have seen the thread in fasting blood glucose, but was wondering what they are for only Type 2's.

Mine are between 4.5 and 6.0 depending on what I have eaten / drunk the night before.

Cheers
SImply_h
Hi since starting a new diet I'm around 4.2. I'm low calories, low carbing.

How odd... don't know... next time I get one of those I'll leave it and see what happens... :) Good reading though...
