Does anyone else get symptoms similar to having a hot flush whilst they are eating? most days normally at lunch time at work, I start to eat and then I start feeling horrible, light headed, and then I can physically feel my face going red, when I ask people they confirm I'm going red and it looks like a hot flush, I am seeing the GP about it as it had been happening for about 2 years. Already been tested for male menopause which came back clear, but they are sending me some where else which I can't remember. Any advice of similar issues will be appreciated

Hi @Steve Hare,

Has Gustatory sweating been mentioned?

Although often ill-timed and embarrassing, sweating after eating is something diabetics can treat. This condition is called gustatory sweating, and it often involves profuse sweating on both sides of your face, scalp, neck and chest. This condition is not well understood, but investigational reports have found that a medication and a topical cream help. Ask your doctor if you need treatment.

Update: I'm still getting these funny turns and have got to a point when I get the hot flush with my face going red, I am getting really light headed and nearly fall over if I'm standing up.these also happen when I'm not eating now.
I've had so many test now with a endocrinology specialist and they can't find anything. Does anyone else get this, I feel so alone with it and doctors can't find what's wrong

I had similar symptoms to yours and by pure chance discovered I had the reaction when I ate dark green vegetables. (I was working 14 hour nights and didn't eat any vegetables for a fortnight and felt better.)
The doctors after loads of tests put it down to my age:) and they still don't believe me as they have never heard of it.:banghead:
I believe its the chlorophyll. non green vegetables are fine, 1 floret of broccoli is enough to set me off. and it takes a couple of days for the dizziness to wear off.
I haven't eaten anything green for 15 years and feel fine.
I would be interested to find out if its just you and me or there other cases of unexplained dizziness out there.
