    Need advice!!

I haven’t been tested in nearly a year and in that time my blood glucose levels have gone up considerably. Fasting levels usually above 6.7 every morning and often takes 3hrs+ for my glucose to return to normal after eating. I limit my carb intake as much as I can on my own but my diet is...

    Need advice!!

Guys I’m really confused and need some advice from people who have actually been through this. The diabetes website says you should have a blood glucose reading of below 5.6 before eating ideally and it should return to normal within 2hrs. If you wake up and your blood glucose is 6.7 do you...

    Waking blood glucose 8.5

My blood glucose in the mornings has been steadily rising over the past year. It used to be anything from 5.7-6.7 now I’m getting over 7 most mornings and today it’s 8.5. My doctor refuses to test me for diabetes again because he did a test several months ago and it said my HbA1c was 35 and so...

Fasting blood glucose 6.7, do I eat or wait?

My FBG has been 6.7 since I woke up and it won’t come down on its own. I try to only eat if I get a reading of below 6.0. Is this normal? Should I just eat anyway? I’m just worried that it will go up really high if I eat and not come down. I’m not on any medication and only considered pre-diabetic

Blood glucose not increasing with sugar??

My blood sugar dipped to a little low for me (4.3) I don’t think I’ve seen it below five more than twice. I ate some white chocolate and it’s barely moved 4.7 I’ve never seen this before and I’m a little worried. Usually when I eat, especially something sugary it will jump up to 7.5 ish and come...

    Palpitations and high blood glucose.

I had a sandwich (ham and cheese) with a few crisps. Before eating my BG was 5.3, about 1/2 an hour after eating my heart rate suddenly sky rocketed to 160bpm and my blood glucose was 11.6 Has anyone else experienced this or have any explanation why it might have happened? Thanks in advance

    Naps and blood sugar

Today I had a snack around 3.30pm, I then fell asleep at around 4pm. I woke up at 6:30pm and my blood sugar was 6.3. Then an hour later it was 7.6? I hadn’t eaten in 4 hours but as soon as I woke up my glucose levels started going up?! Is this normal? I can’t find any answers online and was...

    Am I diabetic?

I’m a 36 yr old male, very overweight 250lbs and inactive due to illness. I’ve been monitoring my fasting blood glucose levels for a while as I am concerned about the possibility of having type 2 diabetes. I’ve been getting readings of 6.0-7.3 for over a week now when previously they were around...

Prediabetes Blood Glucose spikes highest after first meal

Does anyone else find that their blood sugar spikes highest after eating their first meal of the day? If so do you know why this is?

If you get a high reading before you are due to eat do you skip or delay your meal?

I’ve been monitoring my blood glucose levels and I’ve found myself skipping or delaying meals if my blood glucose isn’t within normal parameters. Is this the right thing to do? Say your normal bbq level is below 6 before eating but you get a reading of 7.4, can u eat anyway or should you wait...

Could my blood test be wrong?

But surely if I’m not diabetic as my blood test revealed I shouldn’t be having these spikes? That’s why I’m wondering if the blood test was wrong? Should I be asking my doctor to repeat it?

Could my blood test be wrong?

After 2hrs my levels were 8 mmol. From what I’ve read in the diabetes info page that is within diabetic range. It’s now been 2.5hrs and it’s 6.7. I just don’t understand[emoji30]

Could my blood test be wrong?

I had my diabetes blood test and it came back within normal range but I am still feeling strange symptoms when I eat certain foods so I have continued to monitor my blood sugar levels. Today my fasting blood glucose level upon waking was 6.5. I ate two very small pancakes with a little bit of...

HBA1C test came back negative but I still have elevated FBG levels?!

I’ve been having elevated FBG levels for over a month and they are continuing to rise. I recently had to fast for 3 days and my blood glucose never dropped below 5! Today my FBG was 6.3 and I’m struggling to understand. My doctor was reassured I don’t have diabetes because my HBA1C test came...

Yeah, I think I’ve become a little obsessed with testing because I was sure I was going to be diabetic. Hopefully I can stop myself testing and relax a bit.

HBA1c result given and not explained

My doctor is pretty uninterested, they are under so much pressure I don’t think they are really investigating much of anything at the minute. My blood sugar dips around dinner time, like 4/5pm right down to 4.4 everyday for some reason too but I feel more confident eating when it’s nice and low...

HBA1c result given and not explained

I’m getting fasting glucose levels between 5.5-7.1. That’s what had me most concerned because it was in pre-diabetes range pretty much all the time. My heart races 100+bpm for a long time after eating, especially in the morning or the first meal of the day, Even if it’s only something very...
