    Fast acting insulin

Thank you for your reply, I have been in contact with my diabetic team since i wrote this post and this lovely nurse was very helpful and possibly the first person who actually made sense to me. Hi Jat1, Thanks for your reply, so Trurapi isn't really fast acting after all then? lol I had those sausage rolls today at 12.30pm took 5 units, i was already sitting at 15.5mmol (thats just from a coffee) and it is now 7pm and im finally in range. I'm not used to being in range anymore, so...

Hi Antje, Thanks for your reply. I always log my before and after my blood glucose, not always the carbs though as i do remember what i had eaten, yet i haven't been bolusing for it. It's been a while actually that i might drop my diabetic team an email, they're very good at replying or even...

    Fast acting insulin

Hi guys, i have a question regarding Trurapi. I thought fast acting insulin was supposed to work, well fast? My control has been shocking, i am like 6% in range. I take my Lantus every morning and i was given 1unit for every 30g, that didn't work at all, so we now changed it to 1:20. Also...

High blood sugars all of a sudden.

Thank you all for your responses. I take 6 units of Lantus in the morning and it seems to keep me steady overnight, unless i have a snack in the evening of course. I think I'm a little worried that I'll get it wrong and the fact the odd injection does sting and i really don't look forward to...

    Fast acting insulin

Hi guys, I've noticed 2hrs after food I spike, I can go from 5, 6 or 7mmol before food then end up about 15 or higher 2hrs after food. It can differ some days, like a roast won't spike me much but 2 slicess of toast will, so I've been abit worried about taking fast acting insulin. I contacted my...

My Libre is all set up with the hospital, I had an appointment last Wednesday and I thought I had to "send" them the data but they already had it up on their screen as I linked it with the hospital, very clever. The dietitian was so excited by the whole thing lol they're pleased with me keeping...

Hi guys, Coming to the end of my libre trial, my diabetic team are going to get it put on prescription (yay) when this one comes off, and say I go a week without another, does the data stay or is it wiped clean? Also, those of you who have it on prescription, when it's due to run out do you then...

    GAD test results

Good Luck tomorrow, please keep us updated. Just so you know my hba1c was only 50!! So when I found out it was LADA due to my GAD test, I was in shock, purely because I see people have hba1c of 90+. I have definitely caught this early and wouldn't of known if I hadn't been feeling 'not myself'...

Just an update, I have been given the go ahead to wear the libre, I haven't a clue what I'm doing though, so a little nervous. I was told if it helps let them know and they will get it put on prescription for me. Also, I can link it with them so they can see my readings from their end. Positive...

Hi Dave, Funny you say that, I got one on the free trial from the Abbotts site, I seem to be getting hypos in the afternoon and was curious to see if I should give it ago for that reason, but worried my diabetic team will tell me off and it not being necessary. I'm actually going to email them...

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say hello. My name is Sarah and I was diagnosed officially last Friday as type 1 (LADA as I'm 36) I had an inkling as I've been feeling off for 6 months now, although my hba1c was only in the diabetic range I didn't meet the criteria for type 2, so I was sent for a...
