    Considering a continuous monitoring device.

As a type one it is now a critical part of my management and I wouldn’t want to be without it. Though after last night and too many wretched alarms we fell out. Most are very accurate for me and truth be told no two blood glucose machines give the same reading. I’ve tested them. I can have one...

    Cyclical changes.

Anyway had a good morning with my friend. Both just had a coffee, sat for two hours in beautiful sunshine. Though outside it is bitter.

    Cyclical changes.

My in use insulin is just in my kit bag. Or in the case of my basal in the medical drawer so I don’t get them mixed up. I know once out of the fridge you shouldn’t keep putting them back in.

Hey Tony. You have to take the wins where you can.

    Cyclical changes.

Ok so am feeling fed up this week. Absolutely nothing I am doing is working well for me. And am feeling pretty tired with it all. I will be fine though, as I have eventually realised that for me this wretched condition is cyclical. I have a week like this, then a week of just constant highs...

    Blood pressure

I would also suggest the [emoji638][emoji640] hr cuff. My husband has extreme anxiety. Even me doing his blood pressure without letting him see the results didn’t help the panicky high levels. Told he was going to have to take blood pressure tablets they tried the [emoji638][emoji640] hour cuff...

    Help

Sorry @ausGeoff it’s the NHS. Mass produced, cheap and little flexibility.

New to BS testing … queries

Also for no [emoji638] make sure your pricker isn’t set too high and that your fingers are warm. If you can put in warm water first the blood flows easily.

Information for all members using the DCUK apps

For my part I only use the forum because of the app. I find accessing via the browser clunky and am faced with so much info to sort through. Have a definite aversion to it.

    Type1 - returning to swimming?

I swim regularly and found the best way was before I’d eaten. So in pool before seven. Swim seventy plus lengths. This tends to put my levels up as it isn’t leisurely. Because of this I tend to take a small dose of bolus insulin before I get in. Always have jelly babies at side of pool. Wear an...

    You Couldn't Make It Up.

Hopefully it’s a big box of lancets @Outlier and you won’t need any more for ages. I’m a type [emoji637] and haven’t ordered any in the last eleven years. Still working my way through the mistake the surgery made at my diagnosis by issuing three lots in quick succession. Still have oodles.

    Reliability of Libre 2

@llandrillo switch the loss of signal alarm off on your sensor. Haven’t had mine on for years. I don’t need to be told it’s lost connection. I can see when I pick up to check.

How many cups of coffee do you have per day?

Type 2 Does apple cider vinegar actually work for lowering blood sugar?

It’s not good for your teeth apparently.

    TIR vs Hba1c

Definitely option 2. Have worked hard the past year to avoid lows and highs and maintain a steadier line. My HbA1c has risen to 52 as a result, but my TIR is 87-90% between 3.9 and 10. Am now working on getting it between 3.9 and 8.5. Which is about 73% at the moment.

Freezing bread then toasting it to lower GI?

I’m a Type one. I freeze bread and it definitely then requires less injected insulin. Similar to pre cooked, cooled and reheated pasta. However, it does still require insulin.

    White Cap - any alternative?

Ditto! Not been able to get it for years.

    Freestyle libre sensors falling off

Door handles, Young grandson, serious swimming. Mine are invariably stuck like glue, but I have lost a couple and they do not stand up to seventy lengths of front crawl three times a week.
