Numbers down how to deal with relatives

Amazing achievement, well done! I have lost weight on low carb but not getting my numbers down. I would be interested to hear what your daily diet consists of. As for family my mum doesn't understand and I have to just say, this way of eating works for me. If I eat the stuff you cook I will be...

    Diabetes and other conditions

I Have IBS and find low carb can cause issues if you are not eating the right type of fibre. I sprinkle flax seeds on to yoghurt in a morning, drink plenty of water, eat plenty of green leafy veg, include pulses and nuts in my diet. If you look on you tube you can find videos showing you...

    Test Strips

Gluco Navii is very good, the starter kit contains everything you need and the strips etc are fairly reasonable compared to some others. I was told on diagnosis in 2018 not to test as not necessary for type 2s and NICE recommendations are that it isnt necessary therefore not readily available on...

What was your highest HBA1C reading ?

Can I ask what you eat for fibre. I struggle with that part of it. The dietician I spoke to said include whole grain sourdough bread, brown rice, oats and potatoes occasionally but to me that conflicts with the low carb way of eating

    Diet Dilemmas.

The best advice I was given was to eat fruit straight after a meal or with a meal as this can mitigate a spike. Never eat on its own as a snack. My dietician reminds me its low carb not no carb but choose healthy carbs, small portions and not every day. My cholesterol is high despite me...

    Pizza night!

I am type 2 and was diagnosed at 55 and also not twice as heavy as I should be! Found that quite insulting as it makes it sound as if all type 2s are overweight. Like you lots of type 2 s in the family and by no means are most of them over weight. I ate pizza with a side salad. The Glucose...

"new" diagnosis pre diabetes - 42

The diabetic specialist nutritionist I saw said brown rice, brown pasta, good quality wholegrain bread preferably sourdough from a bakers not pre wrapped supermarket bread and potatoes cooked in skins eaten in small amounts will ultimately aid weight loss and even out BG levels. I dont eat...
