    Cyclical changes.

I feel your frustation! 2-3 months of the yo-yo myself. MDI btw. I have to hit the sweetspot with my basal which can mean 0.5 adjustments. But when I do hit the sweetspot I seem to get the 'seesaw' effect where it soon becomes way to much! The other issue is 'highs', where my fiasp turns to...

    TIR vs Hba1c

A very impressive TIR! My problem is, I binge a bit too much, always thinking that I will be able to deal with any spike via dosing. The biggest problem though is when bg hits teen values, insulin resistance changes so much! I know, I need more self discipline[emoji849]

    TIR vs Hba1c

Ah yes, good point, I have edited the post. For me I tend to accept around 7% lows without any known issues (of course they moan at me) Problem is I can be 3.8 for eg (low) which if stable or rising i conside ok. Of course completely different to being 2.8% and yet both scenarios are classed as...

    TIR vs Hba1c

Just a random question. Which set of numbers would you prefer: 1. Hab1c 45 with TIR of 70% and 7% lows 2. Hba1c 50 with TIR of 80% and <5% lows

    Insulin sensitivity

A couple of thoughts: Lipohypertrophy - I obviously need a new site in order to prove this 100%. But at the moment my 12"x 4" abs slab with slight signs, gives me consistent results all over, surely if this was my problem I would get some variations of insulin resistance within the area...

    Insulin sensitivity

The age thing is interesting, I wonder if their is any medical info to back this up. I'm not sure about the analogy with alcohol, coffee etc where where the body needs more as you take more, but worryingly it maybe possible of course. Or maybe it's a T2 phenomenon Interesting theory @Chris24Main...

    Insulin sensitivity

There has been quite a bit of talk lately on insulin sensitivity issues and seems like a subject difficult to get to the bottom of. I am also lately having problems with my Tresiba/Fiasp mdi. 50+ years now of T1d but healthy and pretty fit. Anyway, my insulin sensitivity has dramatically reduced...

I have been on libre 3 for 12months now, direct from abbot. Which has now changed to via my NHS prescription[emoji16] L3 is great BTW.

No admittance for Type 1 Diabetics at Heathrow

Must admit. I fly about 3 times year. Mainly BRS and BHX I can't remember the last fime my T1d medication caused even a question. I carry it all in one small case as compact as possible. Which is then inside my carry on bag. I don't use cool bags, assuming room temperature will be ok for...

    Dawn Phenomenon

Uk targets are hba1c below 48 (6.5) with TIR (time in range between 4-10) above 70% For me with CGM is possible without it taking over my life (too much)

    Dawn Phenomenon

I think the problem with the professional advice. Is that they will always be thinking, that whatever they say, they do not want to be telling you something that may cause hypo. For me it's a case of, it's my body, thanks to libre etc I can see my trends and can predict which way I will be...

    Dawn Phenomenon

Agree, that would be completely wrong imo. You know what's going to happen as soon as you go over 10. Sensitivity is reduced and it can take ages to get it back down. I don't expect my dsn to give me any useful advice on my daily battle of balancing my levels[emoji23]

    Dawn Phenomenon

uhm, well, I find it very debatable sometimes on what my (non-diabetic) dsn or doctor may want to recommend depending on which way the wind may be blowing from day to day :) . Fiasp is faster than novorapid which for bolusing is what I need. Btw, I took 4 units an hour ago on getting up. Sat at...

    Dawn Phenomenon

Fiasp is faster than novorapid. I find it much better to manage my bolusing. For me I usually take 4 units of fiasp on getting out of bed. Just to to prevent the dp from getting my numbers up. If my bg gets into the teens I find my insulin sensitivity dramatically reduces.

    Libre Trial

I only use Libre app to start my sensor. I then use xdrip for all my data, alarms and minute feed to my watch. A game changer for me[emoji16]

    Libre Trial

I pushed my consultant hard to request L3. Tell them L2 is too bulky causes compression low's, anything really that would suggest it is causing you problems with your management. 12months plus now on L3. Very happy with it!

    Libre Trial

L3 now for 12months. Very happy with it, so small discreet. I believe it's as accurate as you can expect. Don't really understand why L2 still exists.

    Getting fitter

A pen that you can operate one handed, its the cap and needle cover which are the problem. Probalby would be possible. We can live in hope!

    Getting fitter

It can happen on commutes or longer weekend group rides. The commute I tend to bolus slightly higher and if needs be just stop and top up. The problem for me is on the longer weekend rides, where I don't want to be the person who needs to stop (although a no-drop type of ride). Plus a bit more...
