What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Just out of the sixes again at 7.0 on the nose.

A welcome 6.4 this morning but still somewhat confused by variations.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

An unfathomable 7.7 this morning, had only 28g carbs yesterday at lunchtime and nothing since other than black coffee. Walked a good 7 miles in the afternoon and would have expected a much lower result. Funny really because I couldn't quite understand the unexpected lower readings and now find I...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Just got up at 0930, after lie in. Finger prick 7.1 which certainly would have been lower if got up at "normal" time but not bad in the grand scheme of things. Still no sunshine here.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.4 today, looks like the sunny weather is staying away along with my 6's target. Enjoy your weekend and good luck with your own individual challenges.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Had a good run in the 6's over last few days but increased to 7.3 this morning. Nothing of course to do with the chocolate last night before bed as I sort of hoped that the overnight lows would compensate for a brief lapse. Oh well at least I know there is no letting up on strict diet choices.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.0 at 0715 this morning, yet another can't work out why but happy with reading.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Another 6.5 this morning, just for once quite happy with my results but never quite sure why they are what they are if you get my drift.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Finally broke the 6 barrier at 6.5 which is far better than expected. Slept superbly last night despite the heat which was probably the contributing factor but only time will tell if it can be maintained, but I will take every small win when they come along.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.4 this morning at 6am. Not the best nights sleep as grandkids stayed over for the night and wife spent virtually every minute watching the baby monitors so not much sleep for either of us. At least they go back later today and I hope for a better nights sleep.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.4 this morning. Cannot complain as could be worse owing to weakening a bit last night and giving in to 4 or 5 segments of Terry's chocolate orange as well as a few drinks and cocktails whilst visiting friends for a late dinner. Well and truly fell off the wagon from a great height but...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Still higher than target at 7.2 but much better than this time last week. Just have to keep plodding on. Power to all with our own challenges.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Sympathies for the readings, the lower readings sometimes feel like a million miles away but keep at it. Fully agree with the Fastclix and the 6 needle cartridge recommendation from @PenguinMum . I know the official guidance is to use each needle once but I reckon I get about 6 or 7 stabs per...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

So near yet so far to the 6's. Had a 7.0 this morning and double checked (desperately hoping and optimistic for a lower reading :D) but got a 7.1 instead. Cannot grumble as overall numbers going the right way just need to maintain the effort.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Another 7.2 again today. It's not down yet but at least it hasn't gone up so have to take it as a minor win. Back on the Libre but will continue to post finger pricks for a few more days to give a decent comparison between poor diet holiday week and more focussed healthier week. Not sure why I...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.2 this morning now that I am back on the wagon. Better than most of my previous week readings and back to portion sizing and choosing my own foods. Work to be done I know but just brings it home to me the effect carbs and diet in general has on my blood sugar. Likely fit a Libre later today...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.3 yesterday and an 8.8 horror this morning at 0430!!! Had to get up early for flight back home. Thanks for warning about UK temperature, it's relatively freezing here now compared to fantastic Majorcan sunshine but that is half the reason we went there in the first instance. Definately jumper...

    Change of medication

Hi, I was on Dapagliflozin some time ago and had similar symptoms to you, especially in the loo department and had to be taken off it as the constant and urgent need to pee interfered considerably with my job. It was only then that I was told that this was a side effect of the drug and affects...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.2 yesterday and 8.8 for me this morning. Daily results first thing are slowly rising but to be expected as holiday food not carb friendly in the least unless of course I fancy fasting for a week. Proof positive that it is the carb values that affect my BG. Doing plenty of swimming and walking...

    Freestyle libre

I cannot agree more with the advantages of a CGM in trying to manage our condition. I tend to use a self funded Libre and also regularly finger prick. Why i still do both I cant explain but maybe it's a trust thing. Like most my finger readings are around 2mmols higher above the same reading on...
