I saw them both mentioned by people in either YouTube or reddit comments on other overall topics so I don't have a link, sorry.
One was about the impact of apple cider vinegar before meals, the other was on eating fat and protein first in a meal so the carbs sit on top of the other stuff in...
Thanks Kenny.
I fully intend to keep on living my life as if I am pre-diabetic, regardless of my mmol and GPs advice - firstly, as per the second comment in reply to JenniferW, I still have the burning pains when I eat carbs so unless I figure out that's something else (e.g. intolerances)...
Hi Jennifer,
I seem to react massively to carbs with burning pain in my legs (still happening todat in spite of HbA1c levels, so now looking at intolerances), which gave me a lot of motivation to cut my carbs over night to sub 50g.
I was previously eating a high carb diet, circa 300g day of...
In February I was 43 mmol and although I somehow didn't get diagnosed until late April, I made lifestyle changes from about 5 weeks ago (tailored exercise/diet plan).
I requested a re-do on my HbA1c because my symptoms seem to be worsening and I have developed what appears to be diabetic...
Just going back over the thread, it seems you've already made some good progress!
Yesterday I tried some methods I'd seen online to keep your blood sugar from spiking after carbs and I'm at a 4.4 this morning.
Hi, just found this thread and *think* I'm in the same boat as those of you here, or seems so looking at recent posts by Ibra1739 and Nmori at least.
I had bloods done in February which show my HbA1c as 42 (ie. Pre-diabetic) - however, we were looking at cancers etc. because of a year of back...
This morning I am at 5.6mmol/L.
Neeny, I am very new here also but my understanding is that the continuous glucose monitors are not as accurate as the finger prick tests and if you go out of range on a CGM for example, next step should be a finger prick test to confirm.
Otherwise I guess...
This morning I had a 5.9mmol/L on my prick test.
I dropped to 2.9mmol/L before bed last night and Google told me to eat something, so I grated half a small bar of dark chocolate into some Greek yogurt with a tiny amount of honey, less then 10g of carbs. I guess that's maybe the reason for the...
The calorie counting is just to keep me from wasting away - 3000 cals is the minimum I need to not lose weight rapidly.
I realized that a litre of milk per day is actually 45g of sugar(!), so i've switched to an unsweetened soy with some double cream mixed into the bottle to make it taste...
Thank you, I will go to the pharmacy on my lunch break and see if I can get one - if they don't have one available, I'll Amazon one for tomorrow or something.
And yes, one of the things my GP and I spoke about last week is that whilst these symptoms have manifested at the same time, that...
Hi MrsA2,
Thank you for your thoughts.
I should clarify that I don't mean asking AI for advice on what I should eat as a pre-diabetic, my intention is to use this forum etc for guidance on that as you say.
But even when I find good options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I find the process...
Thanks for the heads up.
I'm already scouting some changes and I get through alot of milk, so switching to full fat should up both the cals and the deliciousness
Thank You @KennyA and @Melgar.
Kenny, it is really interesting I hear your experience of not being classified as diabetic but experiencing symptoms - I am very glad to at least be looking into things at this stage and be able to find support/advice here, especially in light of you saying you...
Hi Everyone,
I'm struggling with a new diagnosis and what feels like a lack of support, please see some details below and I guess, my pressing questions after that.
General Health
My diet has been mainly pretty good for a long time, almost everything cooked from scratch, complex carbs only but...
