    Constantly needing more insulin

I'm a bit shocked reading this but that's only because I haven't heard of a ratio like this before. I luckily don't :) I'll continue adapting and changing up my ratios to see what works best for me. I work very early in the morning and have to deal with a high spike when I wake up only to then...

    Constantly needing more insulin

Hi, Ever since I've jumped out of my honeymoon phase, I feel like I've constantly been needing more insulin. I went from needing 1:20 (1 unit per 20g carbs) to 1:15 to now 1:13 throughout the day and 1:10 in the evening. I'm rather skinny and can't imagine such resistance. Perhaps I'm...

    Body's response to fatty food?

I experience the same and have started splitting my dose for higher carb meals and it turned out great. Hit 92% time in range today

    Body's response to fatty food?

I might be phasing out of my honeymoon phase. I've noticed it during my meals at work as well (I am accounting for the difference in physical activity) but didn't think of how to fix it or why it's happening in the first place. I thought I'd perhaps have the carbs off but I no longer think...

    Body's response to fatty food?

I do. 3 units. I take 1 unit per 15g carbs for my evening meals. I didn't know there was a "limit" on how much sugar your body can break down like that but it does make sense. If I have a nice BG before going to bed ~2 hours after my meal, I don't go high or low overnight. I inject using...

    Body's response to fatty food?

Had dinner today. 204g, 14 units (2x 7) at 9 PM. 3.7 at 2 AM, 20.6 upwards trend at 5 AM. I had pasta with tomato sauce and mear today. Very odd.

    Body's response to fatty food?

They often rise in the evening (primarily because of dinner) but have been stable today. Only reason I'm commenting now is because I got woken up by my low alarm. Libre I usually don't have an issue eating them either. My dinner had low carbs compared to what I usually eat for no reason in...

    Body's response to fatty food?

Hi, I had 3 small chocolate biscuits last night, injected 1 unit more than I usually would've and ended up hovering around 20 mmol/L throughout the entire night despite injecting another 12 units in total for that single high. I'm aware of how fats delay the breaking down of sugars but I never...

    Panicked about my big toe

As for my last post within this thread, I'd like to confirm that this was unrelated to diabetes. I deal with a lot of physical weight at work. I noticed that my toes would receive a lot of pressure while attempting to balance myself/push against weight. This caused the nerves in my big toes to...

    Terrible time in range

Following today's appointment, we concluded that my sugars are only high after dinner, meaning that my basal should be fine and I should instead focus on lowering my I:C ratio for my evening meals. Today, I've tried 1:15 instead of the usual 1:20 and would like to happily share that I've reached...

    Terrible time in range

I do inject before my meal. I don't take a bite (unless it's a nibble of veggies). I'll try to avoid eating when I'm around 10. First of all, although your graph has a lot going on, I personally love it. I'll look into that in the near future. I use sanofi aspart, I believe that's Novorapid...

    Terrible time in range

I'd like to share my logbook from yesterday (15/10) till the time of writing this (16/10, ~3 PM). I've put notes on the side. I wake up at around 4 AM and leave for work at ~5 AM. I always have ~45 minutes of physically demanding work involving a lot of weight in products. I always keep my bag...

    Terrible time in range

I went through my logbook and would like to correct myself. It hasn't been bad for the past 2 months, but instead for the past 3 weeks. Such rough weeks make it feel way longer, sorry about that. I also recognized that I slowly started consuming more carbs at dinner. The food itself hasn't...

    Terrible time in range

Thank you for the replies. I don't want to give a short response so I'll reply in detail once I'm back home in 10 hours. I appreciate the interest and willingness to help a lot

    Terrible time in range

I've never heard of "sugar surfing". I'll try to up my evening dosage even more. I don't really know what my basal dose is supposed to do. I was under the impression that higher basal dosage = less rapid-acting during the day. A base layer of insulin basically. I can't agree more. Hearing a low...

    Terrible time in range

I take 12 basal insulin as of now. I think she told me it's excessive to inject at those levels as to not end up making myself fatigued or depressed by injecting so often, but she also mentioned that if I'm comfortable doing so, I'm free to do so.

    Terrible time in range

Hi, For the first ~3 months, I've been doing great with my time in range. I'd hit anywhere from 85 to sometimes 95% pretty much every day. Despite changing nothing (to my knowledge), for the last ~2 months, I've always been below 35%. Most of the time it lingers at 10-12 mmol/L. During my last...

    Type 1 Questions regarding spikes/"spikes"

Thank you! I feel a bit stupid not realizing it was so far off from what I should be concerned about I'll continue to do my best! Thank you for providing clarity

    Type 1 Questions regarding spikes/"spikes"

Hey, I saw this thread and a specific comment stood out to me. "I guess the 8.6 is pretty clear evidence that what you ate is too much for your system." I've (for the past 3 long months) always been under the impression that if you consume something and you end up at 8.6, it's a positive thing...

    Overcome cravings

I've found a bag of mixed (unsalted) nuts to be very useful for my cravings. Before my diagnosis, I'd always snack on a lot of food throughout the day and despite trying for nearly 3 months not to snack and stick to 3 meals per day, I still have my cravings and am also looking for things I could...
