Stress and Blood Glucose Levels - Thoughts?

I suppose that is a natural reaction, the fight or flight thing. Adrenalin and glucose released due to the situation. The sheer scale of that is a surprise though! I know my life had been very stressful for a few years before my diagnosis and I was told that would have been a contributing...

    Breakfast

I have just spent a few days watching the effect of my old favourite wholewheat cereal breakfast with fruit and a little milk on my sugar. Even with tiny portions (why even bother?) I got a spike. The last couple of days its been eggs, with ham or cheese and a tomato. Bingo! This morning levels...

    Experience so far...

Thank you for the encouragement. I took my eye off the ball after a list of tragedies that I won't bore you with, and now I have the result. Not an excuse, but its what happened. Now I am focussed on learning the right things to do and making that habit. I love a challenge and I am stubborn...

Having read all of these tales of woe, I have to report a boring story. It was very similar to the others on the DESMOND course I went on. I have had blood pressure medication for years. Reading through this site which was suggested to me by my GP, has been a revelation. I spent a few days quite down about it all, but then...

    Let's have a grumble!

At the moment my problem, if thats not too strong a phrase, is that being diagnosed only a few weeks ago, my daughters are at the stage of not knowing what to offer me if I visit. At least they don't press me to have cake and biscuits which I can see would become tiresome! It does have the...

    LCHF after gall bladder removal

I had my gallbladder removed in 2010, and I have had no problems eating anything since, just freedom from pain and sickness. It seems from all the replies, you will be ok with an LCHF diet. Good luck with your op!
