    Fiasp

Just wondering if any pump users are using Fiasp with the pump. My Diabetes Doctor mentioned this insulin as being absorbed very fast and dropping off quicker than Novorapid and Humalog. My consultant wrote to my GP to ask for it to be put on my prescription, but my doctors say they are unable...

Thanks for your reply, I'm in the UK, my DN started by saying I could ask to have them added to my prescription, then suggested I buy them as they appear inexpensive. I couldn't remember the exact description of them,I think they are the ins you have mentioned. I'll pursue the doctor.

    Plan 'B' for pump issues?

Hi Helen, my DN has suggested that if I purchase syringes on line, it would save me having to carry back up pen in case of pump failure. Therefore saving having to keep throwing insulin cartridges away after 1 month. Can you advise which syringes you use. I'm on the Medtronic 640g and use the...

    Flying via Heathrow (body scanner)

Last year I left my hand luggage on the belt to be scanned, I was asked to remove my shoes and the pump. I was then taken off to another belt to be checked over, when I went back I couldn't find my shoes. So there I was in bare feet trying to locate my shoes, which had been put on an entirely...

    Flying via Heathrow (body scanner)

I've flown lots of times since being on the pump 5 years and have had some difficult experiences, especially in the early days. I always show the letter from the hospital stating I cannot go through the body scanner. I normally disconnect and walk through. I worry that when they take the pump...

Medtronic 640G or Accu chek insight pump

Hi Meggy96, I've been using Medtronic pumps for 5 years and find the 640g very easy to use. My DSN set it up originally and I've made minor adjustments. It is a bit bulkier than the previous pump I was using, I mostly clip mine onto the middle section of my bra. I wouldn't go back to MDI. Good luck.
