    How many NovoRapid Pump Cartridges?

I use 10ml Humalog vials in my Medtronic 640g. I order 3 boxes at a time and they generally last about 2 weeks per vial. I keep Humalog 3ml cartridges and 1 Lantus pen in the fridge for backup. I always take these with me if I'm away from home overnight. Last year my pump failed and had to...

    Flash sensors

Thank you for your reply. Quite a few readings on the sensor are showing below 4, when I blood test it's usually around 5-6. Having said that, I'm finding being able to track which way the graph is going very good.

    Flash sensors

Hi All, I've been using the Freestyle Libra since early December. The first one was given to me together with the reader by the hospital to trial. I was very impressed at first. Since then I've been self funding them. I'm finding variations in BG readings between sensors. Sometimes the sensor...

    Pump Insurance

This has given me food for thought, I don't have my pump insured. I figured as I wear it all the time, I'm unlikely to lose it. When the casing cracked, Medtronic replaced it with a new one within 48 hours. Going to get enquire about insuring it.

Hi Gaz-M I have 1 Long acting Lantus as a back up and Humalog fast acting cartridges as a back up. Had to use both recently when my pump went to critical error. You have jogged my memory tho, as I have just switched to Novo Rapid and haven't back up pens in the fridge.

    new libre

I received a reader and 1 sensor as a hospital trial, I purchased 1 in December and have been so pleased with the result, I'm now waiting for a delivery of 4. Although VAT is exempt , ordering 1 at a time costs more due to the postage. I hope eventually it will be possible to gee on...

    Novorapid vials in short supply

Hi Emila, I used to be on Nova Rapid long time ago, when I was on MDI, I had lots of hypos, usually around the 2-3 hr mark, I used to swing from low to high, then treat the high and go low. Since being on the pump 5 years now, the control is better. After meals I tend to be a bit high sometimes...

    Novorapid vials in short supply

Hi Emila, I've been on Humalog for a long time, I'm just trying Nova Rapid to see if it will help my control. I ordered 1 x10ml vial for my pump, when I went to collect the pharmacist had 10x10ml for me. So don't think there's a problem in my area. I've only taken 2 to try out.

    Hypos exercise and Pump

My BG is usually around 9mmol sometimes a tad lower, as its around 2 hours after breakfast and normally have some active insulin. I have a drink of ribena by the pool and will often have a sip throughout the class. The pool is quite warm. On Wednesday for instance I was 9.6 at 10am and 4.9 at...

Cracked Medtronic 640G Critical Failure Code!

Last night I posted that my pump had stopped working. On close inspection today, I can see a crack from the battery compartment right down the casing. I didn't notice it last night, but I know why it stopped working as I did an Aqua class last Wednesday. Interesting that so many people have...

    Pump stopped working

Hi Juicyj, Pump won't reset, Medtronic are sending the Veo 554 today,as the 640 is unavailable till the end of next week. Checked BG in the night it was 14.9, this morning 12.7. I think it was the time it took for Lantus to kick in. Thanks for your feedback.
