    Morning blood/glucose levels

Hi xfieldok. Yes I've been using the SD Codefree meter. I have to agree about the Desmond course. If you hadn't done any research yourself it was a good starting point and it helped clarify some grey areas. The girl giving the dietary advice was good but just preached the standard NHS healthy...

    Morning blood/glucose levels

Yesterday I had some blood taken for my first test (3 months) since being diagnosed. I've been quite excited about this as I have dramatically changed my diet and I am hoping for a good improvement from the original HbA1c of 84. What I would like to ask about is this. If I typically eat at...

    Bone Broth Fat

Hi. I'm a couple of month into eating low carb and have decided to try to get into Ketosis. It's a battle due to years of trying to live low fat but I'm listening to the "fat is your friend" messages I'm reading everywhere and the last couple of days I've fully committed myself. In order to...

Hi again Jo. Thanks for taking the time to write all that. It's very encouraging to hear about your success. As it happens I love those healthy fats you mentioned and wouldn't have any trouble including them in my day to day diet. I was interested that you mentioned berries. I've taken to...

Hi Jo thanks for the reply. I believe I'm doing quite well keeping the carbs low with the exception of a bottle of wine on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm certainly not hungry all the time like I have been for the last 40 years. But I am struggling to get my head around committing to high fat...

Hi Rachox and thank you for the reply. I have a SD Codefree monitor and currently use it 6 times a day, immediately before meals and 2 hours after. I've started charting the readings to establish averages and try to discover if anything causes high readings. Good luck with your test next week

Hi everyone. I'm Alan. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in August. I had a HbA1c reading of 84 from the initial blood test (annual routine blood test) and I am currently taking 3 x 500mgs of Metformin a day. I have found myself quite fascinated by the subject since being diagnosed and I am...
