    How do you know?

Sorry I missed the list. The only way you can know how your drugs need to change is by blood tests or adverse effects of medication. Nobody can give you a timetable. Take care Doug

    How do you know?

A lot will depend on the medications you are on and the rate of change in your metabolic readings. Everyone is different. Take care Doug

Yoo Hoo! I'm starting Newcastle tomorrow CAN'T WAIT!

@Galja you might want to start a new thread so you can get the advice you want. As your post is getting lost in Sunny's thread. Take care Doug

Yoo Hoo! I'm starting Newcastle tomorrow CAN'T WAIT!

Sunny, you really do need to keep an eye on your blood sugars. You have said that you do not test regularly - you might want to reconsider that. Are you getting regular diabetic checks - including foot checks and HbA1c blood tests? What has your doctor said about your painful feet? Is it...

    Neuropathy

Can you tell us something about your diabetes treatment and your diet? What are your blood sugar levels? All these things are important in knowing how to advise you. Take care Doug

    Type 2 metformin side effects

It is unlikely that the side effects of Metformin would take as long to manifest themselves. Perhaps the tests your doctor is running will shed some light on your problems. Take care Doug

Seems like a strange breakfast to me but I guess anything you ingest first thing in the morning could be classed as breakfast. Take care Doug

    EEEEK - high glucose levels!

Unfortunately steroids can effect BS levels as you have found out. Here's hoping, however, that the steroid works on your finger to avoid an operation. Take care Doug

If you are not going to do Newcastle with the shakes you will need to make sure that you are getting all the nutrients that are in the Newcastle shakes. Take care Doug

    Lyxumia & vomiting?

I would suggest talking to your GP about this. My only comment would be that for many, both medication and diet are components of good glucose control. As you say, you may need to look at your diet as well as sorting out the side effect of your medication. Take care Doug

On the slippery slope....but out of my hands now....

Dear all I do not think that this post needs to be moved. It does, however, need to be closed. The OP has updated the forum, has moved on with her life and it is not helping her ex by continuing with this thread. Indeed, a continuing of the thread could become increasingly negative and we all...

    Care over cost?

@Jaylee I was part of the statin trial and it was obvious that I was not on the placebo It is not always possible to make that assessment - it depends on the trial. @videoman So sad that you are having a poor experience with your consultant. It might be worthwhile discussing the situation...

@13lizanne I prefer to use the "controlled" terminology. It reminds us that we have to continue with our good management. Doug
