I am happy to remain on metfotmin as long as I can. Ongoing research is showing that this is a helpful drug, including assisting the prevention of some cancers.

Steroids like prednisolone (prednisone) will generally increase blood sugars leading to a need for adjustment of insulin - http://blog.joslin.org/2014/02/how-prednisone-affects-blood-sugar/ I have not heard of it being a treatment for diabetes.
