Hot bath and blood sugar levels

Had the exact same thing today. Nice warm bath for 1 hr. BG were + 1.5mmol/L afterwards and continued to rise a bit afterwards. Apparently Libre/my body is quite temperature sensitive.

Does the MiaoMiao/a CGM make a difference?

Thanks, done. Disadvantage of using DuckDuckGo browser is it is very US-centric.

Does the MiaoMiao/a CGM make a difference?

Which EU website did you use? My Google search brought up nothing useful. I'd like to consider that option prior to Brexit:)

Does the MiaoMiao/a CGM make a difference?

Thanks. Its ships direct from China and doesn't have VAT added. I have had experience of added costs & delays with goods that require duty so may wait until it is available in UK direct.

Does the MiaoMiao/a CGM make a difference?

I have just got the Libre and enjoying the info presented. I now know why I have been waking at 2 hour intervals during the night for many years. Where does one get a miao miao? Amazon? Are they hard to setup?

Is a Vegetarian diet really healthier than Omnivore?

I bought a well-known book that touted a plant-based diet and supported it with many studies. Whilst I agreed with the sentiments (not sure how much indoctrination has affected my base thinking such as 'eat your veggies' and the fact that our meat supply contains cruel practices on occasion)...

Even the Dalai Lama eats meat! Buddhists can eat meat but not kill animals for it. I guess, logically, that means hyenas and vultures would be welcome if they wished ;P

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@Annb Gah! Lost my post...Polyphenols in coffee, tea and fruits can inhibit the absorbtion of heme iron when eaten at the same time. VitaminC can mitigate a little. Perhaps eat your meat away from your veggies and beverages? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3306181/ Mollasses...

I'm in; what the heck? Still time to get rid of the avocados, celery and zucchinis. The onions and lemons can stay With the proviso, I'm starting with a 4-5 days low protein (800cal) or water fast. Keep me on track !!

How can I reduce fasting insulin levels

True. Using a mobile with auto-fill means I'm always correcting something. I have only been caught sleeping walking (and talking) once in my life! As a child.

    Keto diet not for me

Years ago (and can't find it now) I found a paper detailing a enzyme deficiency (totally missing) in the biochemical chain required in the insulin receptor chain to send the GLUT4 transporter to the cell wall in white adipose tissue in a very popular mouse strain, the John Hopkins Mouse...

Just read the whole thread and am drooling... Off to a newly-discovered old-style butchers, with an abattoir right next door, again tomorrow as I'm pretty much out. I hope they have some pig skin as I like it fried for scratchings as a snack whilst my meal is cooking. One question, peeps...

How can I reduce fasting insulin levels

Ah! Congrats! Have you continued ultra-low carb? What level of carbs can you stand now and were there any thyroid problems (if I may be personal -feel free to ignore)

How can I reduce fasting insulin levels

You're right, I do over think things often. :) I do worry about low carb affecting my thyroid function as my temps run between 35C-36.3C and I have suffered the symptoms of post-prandial somnabulence (eg falling asleep during or after eating), since my 20's which points to an HPA issue. I read...
