What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thanks to all for your kind words and thoughts. Just back from the having my blood taken. As usual, I was part of the levity, as they know me from my past, as I hate needles at best of times, but endure. For bloods, they always have to hunt for a vein, plus I may faint etc. But I am happy to...

Which fingers are best to use being a T2

I use a method of starting with the right hand, pricking the left side of fingers, moving from index finger to little finger, then do same for left hand. I then start with the right side of fingers one at a time moving through one hand to the next.

sharing a simple way to get enough blood for testing

I was curious about the alcohol wipes, as I generally wash my hands as I find warm water helps with the blood flow for finger prick. But if I wanted, I have access to pre-injection swabs at work (70% isopropyl alcohol), which are the right size and used for degreasing small metal components we...

sharing a simple way to get enough blood for testing

Excuse my ignorance, but why would you not use an alcohol wipe if you have one? Before they take blood, my skin is wiped with an alcohol wipe, so I thought it would be OK to use one.

Type 2 Cold Feet and smooth legs

As a man, I can only say that as a strawberry blonde in my youth (OK a ginger), through to a salt/pepper haired man in his 50's moving to slowly to silver white, my legs have never been that hairy, and with light hair, what leg hair I have has never been noticed or an issue. As for cold feet...

HBA1C vs Fasting Blood Glucose levels

I use a Freeestyle Libre, and as Bluetit1802 stated, there is no pain, but the loud click as you press the sensor into place using the applicator makes you jump the first time, as you steel yourself for the expected pain. The first time I applied the sensor and lifted the applicator away, I...
