Tramadol certainly helped me when pain was making it more than difficult to sleep. Hope you have some sweet dreams as the...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.2 yesterday morning...I wonder what disappointment awaits later. See my natural optimism sneaking out there?

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Basic question I know...are you on a low carb diet? That's what worked for me.

Okay..I may well be missing the obvious while revealing myself to be a nosey git.....are you... Alf...or is it a secret code at the end of posts? ;)

    Most significant readings

Generally, I would say it's ok. It is within the acceptable range (that is up to 8.5mmols post meal for a Type 2 IF that is not more than 2mmols of a jump from premeal)..but it would be good to know how it compares to the premeal reading.

    Most significant readings

Surely a reading after the meal doesn't inform you a whole lot without the reading premeal..other than to let you know if it's a bit high or a bit low? If you are looking to learn about the impact of foods, before and after are the only effective way to tell.

    Most significant readings

No question - it would be before and two and half hours after the main meal. That said, after a while (with the aid of a food diary) you would know what certain foods generally do to your blood sugar, so you would only really need to test before and after any new foods. I would only test at...

My unglamorous symptoms: how the hell do I tell this guy the truth?

Hiya. Thanks for sharing your concerns...you may well be helping someone else here right now just by talking about it. You also help others (and yourself) by being open about things when it is probably appropriate. Lots of people have hang up about their conditions and the personal issues...

    Antibiotics Making Me Unwell. Help!

Are you certain it's the antibiotics and not the infection? How long is the course? Unless it is horrendous, I'd complete the course.

Feel as though I am a total failure

Hi, I guess you are a Gemini like me...and that can mean a lot of self-analysis (unless you don't listen to that twin too much). of course you're down...you have reasons to be...but you also have reasons to be up so look for them more. You managed to lose 6 stone before! You know you can do it...

Hi and welcome. It was the first forum I ever joined and it's been a great help. Let us know what your levels are like and how you manage your blood sugar...so we can all jump in with our tuppence worth...I mean...so we have an idea if there's any specific advice you might benefit from or...

Greetings all from a much happier T2

I think that's a fair comment. We can only really talk about our own experience. I stopped taking Gliclazide so I could see what was happening on a low carb diet alone..and because I was already on about 15 other meds and really didn't want one more drug to contend with. I never regretted it...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.8 the day before yesterday; I honestly just couldn't be bothered yesterday - so I think I'll just call it a 5.1. What?

    Hello. I`m reversed t2 fighter :)

I'd agree. I would add to that...my diabetes is steroid induced, but I would accept that the changes it caused simply made me more intolerant of carbs. Not eating as many carbs is what dunts it in the right direction temporarily and this can be maintained so long as I recognise the need to eat...
