    Type 1 Caused by lifestyle?

I'm type 3.5 but not sure if I'm in the 'lifestyle' category, as much as I kicked the **** out of life at the time it's not the cause IMO.

    Fits/Seizures

Firstly, thanks everyone for the responses, and the kind words of concern, much appreciated. There are a bunch of reasons I don't believe it was a hypo, have been down in the 1's several times in the past, and never experienced anything like this, it didn't feel like a hypo. The worst hypo I...

    Fits/Seizures

Hi, thanks for the reply. No didn't take BG, wasn't in a fit state, ate a few gluc tabs in case it was hypo, and went to sleep. but when I awoke it was >12mmol after 3 gluc tabs, so don't think I was hypo. Need to visit the GP, just interested if anyone else had similar issues.

    Fits/Seizures

T1 diagnosed in Jan 2013, probably T1 for at least a year beforehand. Had some sort of fit or seizure last night, very scary, my wife thought I was having a hypo but I was convulsing apparently and not conscious, I don't remember any of it other than waking up on the bedroom floor soaked in...

    High bs after morning exercise

It's worth noting that some exercise will raise BG, very high intensity exercise will do that. For more regular cardio it will rise a bit for about 40 minutes and then lower afterwards.

    Don't Know Where to Turn

It's tough to bring yourself down from high BG, I was 44mmol when diagnosed, and I suffered chronic pain with nerve damage revealing itself as I brought my BG back down, I was on opiate based painkillers for some time. What I will say is that the journey is worth the reward, feel much better...

    Alcohol Top Tips

If I drink spirits it will drop my BG, if I drink beer or wine it's fairly negligible as the alcohol offsets the carbs in the drink.

    Blood sugar levels

Is your levemir enough? I do 34 units a day, and about 15 units of NR from about 100g of carbs for lunch & dinner (don't do breakfast). Have you worked out how many units of NR you need per X grams of carbs?

    Alcohol???

Different types of alcoholic drink affect me in different ways, vodka will lower it, wine will lower it, beer and cider will raise it. Test and see what works for you.

54yrs T1, survived despite best efforts of NHS and Novo ,

Absol My pancreas was screwed over by a single episode of acute extreme pancreatitis which is the reason why my pancreas has stopped producing insulin. For 34 years prior to this the pancreas worked fine, and my weight was lower, artificial insulin is the difference.

    Feeling very stupid

Physically feeling better, but it left me feeling very down, and close to tears over diabetes in general, maybe a bit of shock playing in there too. First time since I was diagnosed I've felt like that, my attitude has always been there are far worse things in life you could have to deal with.

    Feeling very stupid

No time to get the head checked, a bit of a headache, and the big lump I feel ok.

    Feeling very stupid

For 3 years after diagnosis I've managed my BG pretty well, today I majorly screwed up. i'd been ill for a few days with my BG rocketing, this morning i felt better, but still a very high reading. I took a very large correction dose, and went out for a few hours, 2.5 hours later it was still...
