    Fab summary @cold ethyl! You're dead right. Still dreading Xmas treats or lack of but looking forward to all the other stuff! Yes cheese is defo my friend & I'm never far away from a Macadamia or an Almond!!!

    Oooh cauli rice is delish - actually prefer it to rice! My treat of a square of dark choc on the evenings - I really look forward to that or sometimes a spoon of clotted cream & a few raspberries!!! Yum!

    Cool @Enclave - I seem to eat out quite a bit of late. . Yes long time being veggie but not as long being type 1 & only seriously low carbing for short while so don't eat: pasta, rice, lentils, couscous, noodles etc but will expand my recipes. Thanks

    & Enclave - thanks I know this is the dilemma though as feel my diet is now so restrictive & not sure whether to go back to eating fish! How do u cope? Yes guess u r right but panicking about all those carbs: roast pots, stuffing, mince pies, port, Xmas pud!!! Arrrgh! Thanks :-)

    Should I split my Lantus dose?

    Hi Cookiebell - I split my Lantus as advised by my DSN. I take 10 units in the morning and 10 units in the evening. This works well for me and if I'm doing aerobics in the morning I minus a couple of units. HTH.

    I guess the fact that everything is closely monitored at the hospital eg: b/p, cholesterol, thyroid etc - peace of mind. O and being able to eat a few sweets after a hypo!!!!! :-)
