    6.3 at 0545hrs. When I was diagnosed this time last year it was 23 mmol/L ([emoji33]) so I guess I should be happy with progress.

    6.8 yesterday and 6.8 at 0600hrs this morning. Today’s exercise will be clearing up all the bamboo leaves and sundry debris, thanks to overnight storm ‘Fabienne’ which swept through causing havoc and destruction.

    7.2 at 0530hrs. On prescription painkillers just now - chronic backache. Old age galloping up on me - I thought it would take longer [emoji33]

    7.3 at 0600hrs - only got to sleep at 0430 [emoji33]. Quarterly check-up at Doc at 0800hrs and my HbA1c reading was 6.6 - everyone more than happy [emoji2]

    6.1 at 0545hrs. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, I had two very high readings (started day off at 5.9!) - hadn’t eaten anything I shouldn’t have and wasn’t stressed. Double checked but no change. [emoji849]

    In Switzerland the test strips are also expensive - a tub of 50 strips (Contour Next) costs equivalent of £45. This is why I’m glad my sickness insurance pays mine. Most foreign suppliers will not ship to Switzerland.
