Could this be diabetes related? (Hand problem)

You should definitely have this thoroughly checked and follow up! I know it's easier to ignore sometimes but if it is neuropathy you can still get treatment. It may be RSI, if you've been doing the same manual tasks with your hands for a long time. Please don't ignore it, though. Got to be...

    Condition Or Disease?

A condition I manage to avoid disease. I care, that's why I took the time to answer the message. :D

    Retinal screening

It is routine. They will likely do a quick eye chart test, then dilate your eyes (that will sting for a few seconds, just blink a lot). After 20 mins or so your pupils will be dilated and they'll stay that way for several hours (so take dark glasses or daylight might be much brighter to you than...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.1 today. Less impressive but understandable as I probably had a few too many grams last night. Have a good day everybody :)

    Type 1 Insulin on plane

I keep everything in my carry on luggage. Make sure you pack plenty of reserves. They may insist the pens go into a clear bag too. Have a nice holiday :)

    22 years of diabetes

Hello there! 22 years? Just a newbie then ;) Kidding - well done on getting two decades under your belt. Is there hope for you? DEFINITELY! Do NOT give up on your health. Many T1's go through some complications, me included, after battling the condition for so long. That doesn't mean you're...

high blood sugar effect on concentration

Absolutely! and if you're frequently running high you may stop noticing the affect and it becomes the norm for you. It was for me. Now I'm much sharper in the brain, more cheerful, more... me!

    BG average in range

For the first time in at least 90 days, my BG average is now in range. In the "blue zone" for the last few weeks but dropping towards it for the last 30-40 days. Now to maintain this consistency forever. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a HbA1c before! :)

    DAFNE Course

I was offered this earlier this month but declined to wait and see what my next A1c would be. Having read the positive comments about it here I'm changing my views. I guess I just don't like the thought of being sent "to school" to re-learn things I probably already know or should know.

    Blood Glucose Before Bed.

65 years! Wow. Well done. You must have experience a lot in that time. 4 is on the border of hypo and is in mmol value. x18 for your mg value as advised for US.

It was pretty tough. Character building for an 8 year old kid, you might say. Todays are almost pain free

    Light sensitivity following retinal screening

Dilation can last a while and make normal daylight seem very bright. It doesn't normally last more than the day for me, though. Might be worth querying if it's still sensitive after a few days or you notice your pupils are still dilated. Take care
