    Forgotten needles!

Luckily, disaster has been adverted. I’ve been able to buy a box of 100 needles from a local pharmacy . Took my pens and the needle I had on me to show them . They were really helpful. Thanks all for the advice and info you shared.

Weird and not so wonderful places you’ve had to administer insulin????

Yesterday, I was put onto another insulin. So I now have two to administer daily. One four times a day, and the other once daily. Today, has been my first day and it’s been a disaster I’ve been traveling all day, so not been able to administer 20 mins prior to a meal. I’ve been able to...

    Android testing

Sorry to hear that. Was it long ago? Do you remember the name of the company overseeing the trial. I think there’s a link in the thread somewhere of the company I’ve done my trial via. You might want to give them ago. You’d have nothing to loose if you still want to be involved in a trial using...

    Two Insulin’s??

Hi all, I trust everyone is well? Well I got to meet the consultant today for the first time. As expected I’ve been put on a fast acting insulin. Novo Rapid.....it all seems rather daunting at this point in time. I’ve been advised to inject 4 units with meals, been advised it can drop down to...

    Android testing

Here is the link, https://bioepicstudies.com/. I believe the trials are still open. You’d have nothing to loose by applying. As far as I’m aware the trials don’t seem to have specifics with regards to what type diabetic you are. The trial I’ve been involved in has been focusing on the software...

    Android testing

You have to use your index fingers for the purpose of the trial. I suppose by using the same finger consistently it will help with the overall results. It’s a complete new learning curve for me. This is the first trial I’ve been accepted to be involved in.

    Android testing

This is the only disappointing factor. I don’t get to see any of the results that the software on the mobile collects. However, due to the fact you also have to supply a traditional bg reading, that leads me to believe the company running the trial will do the comparison. I suppose that’s quite...

    Android testing

Hi Jaylee It’s an app I’ve been able to download to my existing android mobile. I initially had a few reservations, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Software downloaded easily, and is really easy to use. You create a profile that includes:- Name, address, date of birth, height & weight, &...

    Android testing

Hi all, I’m currently involved in a diabetic trial which involves testing android phones, along with the relevant software. I must admit I’m very impressed so far. All I have to do is put my finger alongside the camera on the phone, then allow a minute for the data to be collected. No finger...

    Struggling To Administer Insulin

Hi Tinker, That’s good to hear, so far so good. I’ve never thought of numbing the area beforehand. I’ve personally found it’s got easier the more I’ve used it (TickleFlex). I’ve also found it seems to take me a lot less time to administer than it did prior. Unfortunately, I’m currently on 30 -...

    Struggling To Administer Insulin

Hi Tinker, Firstly, how are you? Have you received your TickleFlex yet? (Hopefully you have), if so are you finding that is helping? If you haven’t received it yet, I’d personally contact the supplier and see what they say. How are you finding taking the insulin tho? What advice did the DN...

    Spilting Insulin Dose

Hi all, I’m after a little advice. Currently I have to administer my insulin last thing at night. The problem I’m having is that I’m now on 30 units and I’m finding it a lot last thing at night. Therefore, how do you spilt the dose? Obviously, I’m aware it would be 15 units morning, then...

    Struggling To Administer Insulin

I don’t know if this suggestion will help you. The first appointment I had with my DSN nurse in the hospital, she had a rubber duck ready to practice injecting in. Now, since I’ve started to struggle injecting I’ve purchased some small rubber ducks, so I can practice on should the need arise...

    Struggling To Administer Insulin

Hi Draco, Thanks for that advice. Didn’t think that would be an option. Everything to do with the insulin has been a real learning curve so far. What I personally can’t understand is that I started off fine injecting, don’t know what’s changed in order for me now to be struggling. I can’t...
