Only you can keep yourself on track once you know how your body works and reacts to the foods in your diet and medals you use to control it. I had a good two and half months with one on and learned everything I could in that time. Planned out extra trips kayaking and cycling to get a bigger...
I wasn't on about insulins Tim, I was on about the other medications given when as type ones or type twos develope complications or cardiovascular problems that so many diabetics develope wether type 1 or 2 in later life due to being a diabetic and at higher risk. My info regarding that comes...
I disagree, the complications come from us being taught the rubbish we are, the lousy drugs we are given and lack of education. I'm sick of the sugar coated nonsense we are taught and read from our health organisations that are blatantly coining it in and making a career out of keeping us all...
Abbott just gave us free trials with the old stock they had by looks of it. As my mum put it after I couldn't afford to self fund the libre was, how cruel to give you that for two weeks then your on your own to fund it after the difference it made.
Abbott have brought their way into the NHS, no...
Get yourself off to boots, fantastic every time I go. No issues with coming back annually for a sight test. Again they always try to push their specs on you if you need them. I say I'm in rush. I have mine before swimming on a Saturday so I am genuinely in a rush. Haha!!
Good morning you lovely lot. I hope you all have a nice Sunday planned.
7.7 this morning. Were 6.8 at 3am 4.1 around 2300 before bed so had a sneaky gram of dextros.
Little shot and a sit on my little exercise bike then a nice omelette for breakfast.
Sounds like you have the same trouble as me, my body is very zingy in the morning and upon waking my sugars creep up if I don't get up straight away and have a small shot. Usually find my body not as responsive to insulin in the morning as it's being fought off by the dreaded DP.
cannula sites can become troublesome on their own as scar tissue can build up in that area, I'm happy with my nova rapid in my pen. We have to have something left to do. That's a bit of morning humour there, yes it's a pain if you forget your pen or loose the begger, happened twice in 17 years...
Only thing I've ever been told about alcohol wipes is not to use on your fingers when lancing as can create a dryer/harder skin on that area and could making lancing to draw blood a lot harder and maybe even more painful. This is obviously using them regularly not the odd one in the hospital or...
I've had the pleasure of using around 8 of them, second one showed sign of budging slightly as noticed a little greyness on day 8 from the sticky edge so took some precaution and started using some tape. Stopped applying that at around 10 days of the sensor as i checked it and it was stuck solid...
I don't grind my flaxseed, just the 10g of hemp as it's not nice to eat whole, that way I get the shell as well. I've seen the hearts for hemp and other seeds however digestion rate would be increased and therefore undo the power they have on steady release and minimal effect on my blood sugar...
My breakfast today.. 200g alpro 4.4g carbs and 10g hemp seed, 5g chia, 5g flaxseed, 5g walnuts, 5g Brazil nuts, 5g hazelnuts and plenty of cinnamon. Lovely and around 6g carbs. Has a slight mince pie taste to it. Reminds me of xmas.
Alpro all the way for me. 2.2 per 100g. They do a strained version too, again 2.2 approx and 6g protein per 100.
I always get them on offer at £1 a pot for 500g
Here's an image of the back with nutritional info..
I was treating myself to 2 squares of 90% Lindt dark. Which was a surprising 14g carb per 100. Considering a small dairy milk is approx 30 odd per 35g bar. But 8 per 100 on the 100% is an amazing find @JohnJ
Will be keeping my eye out for this.
7.2 this morning at 0730 so got straight up. Hopefully get back on track again soon an welcome back those high 4's.. I'll take that 7 after the nasty double figures I was getting. cgm's soon also, I had a good 3 months using the freestyle. Shown me so much I never knew was happening. Tighter...
Thanks a lot @ziggy_w its been a real shocker, I've had the pleasure of being his carer and work aid for the last 5 years since his accident which made his t2 return after he reversed it with diet and exercise, was on huge doses of insulin too.
If you start of slow with exercise and then build...
It's an exercise bike with just the seat and peddles. My mum gave it to me. Probs a qvc bargain. Haha!!
Will try and grab a link as it wouldn't take my pic as too big, it's very basic. Effected for me though in helping get moving.
