Eating Fruits for Diabetic type 1

Here is the link to his YouTube channel. That was my introduction to his methods. I was hooked on him straight away. Then I got his book which I have on my kindle app as it was the fastest and cheapest way to get my hands on it. Was perhaps the best £6.99 I’ve ever spent apart from my glucose...

Eating Fruits for Diabetic type 1

Our food choices are endless, there are loads of sugar free alternatives we can make. The shop brought ones can be a bit misleading so we need to always pay attention to labels, only shop brought sugar free item I eat is hartleys sugar free jelly. Sugar can be hidden in so many forms it can be...

Eating Fruits for Diabetic type 1

Bless you, I think your son may have already worked out and noticed what some fruits have done to his levels before so avoids them. Taking extra insulin just to eat fruit is a no brainer, I used to love my fruit and based my breakfast around it with yogurt until I found out about dr Bernstein’s...

    Puddings?

I always thought there was more sugar in the muller light yogurts than the full fat ones. I’ve also found the alpro yogurts pretty low carb. 2g per 100g and they are flavoured. Greek yogurt adds too many carbs for me in the morning. They even have an unsweetened alpro one now that is zero carbs...

    Puddings?

Hartleys sugar free jelly with a little double cream on top. I’ve just found the double pack in b&m for 49p instead of 90p in Sainsbury’s. I eat it quite often so is a nice saving. Also I indulge in some no added sugar truffles that I make myself with 100% cocoa montezuma’s dark chocolate only...

    Low carb seafood from Iceland

Lovely stuff, this sounds fantastic. Will keep my eyes peeled next time I pop in. The broccoli and cauliflower in Iceland is also the lowest carb I can find per 100g anywhere as well and a bargain it £1 800g. I’ve checked a lot out now. I love my greens to bulk out my meals.

OMG can I tell you about my wondrous low carb white sauce!

Wafer thin roast chicken or turkey slices work an absolute treat as a pasta substitute for layers. Tastes fantastic too. I’ll link you to the recipe I use for my low carb lasagna if you want to take a peek. https://itwontdiabeatus.wordpress.com/protein-pasta-lasagna/

No freestyle libre in Staffordshire on prescription

Our local ccg have told my gp that under no circumstances will they be funding the libre sensors in the Staffordshire area for qualifying diabetics as it’s too expensive. Has anyone else tried to get one? I’ve seen thousands of posts saying non in their area either on Abbott’s Facebook page...
