Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

4.9 at 9am this morning. Looks like behaving with my diet is paying off. Going to see the DN today for the first time. At least I can take in some decent BG readings ☺

    Naturefile

Thanks for the lovely comment. @debrasue - I love your nuthatch. I live very close to a nature reserve and for the last month I've been trying to get a decent shot of one on the feeder but it keeps evading me. Maybe it's all part of the game ... But I'll get him in the end

    Naturefile

Out yesterday birding and managed to capture a host of various birds. I won't bore you with them all, but here was a rather nice photogenic little reed bunting that stayed for a while as I sat in a hide at Tittesworth reservoir.

    Fluctuation in readings

Ok, I admit it, I am so out of my depth here it's not true! Since diagnosis 10 days ago I have totally overhauled my diet and the pounds are starting to come off my belly. Although not rigidly following a LCHF diet, I am really really close and I feel a lot healthier as a result. On top of...

    BG Monitor

Oh I tried the side of my finger .. several times. I had the needle set at its highest and the insipid microglobule that emerged made my wife begin to ponder on whether or not I was really a zombie! After a few stabs I gave up and returned to the pad. I've found that if I press the contraption...

    BG Monitor

Well, I have taken the advice of people on the forum and purchased a monitor. First (and completely unlike me), I read the instructions. Then, having gained a reasonable understanding of what I needed to do, I moved to the next stage and started to set my kit up. So far, so good - it has the...

Where's everybody from? And what do you do for work?

I spent most of my working with substance misusers and W-S-M became a sort of Mecca for treatment centres so I spent many happy years working there. The place has changed a lot over the years and seems to be increasingly developing new housing estates. They've cleared up the seafront a lot now...

    Just a nosey patient

Hi folks Just wanted to share my experience with my GP today. Last week I had the results of a blood test and another doctor diagnosed me as having Type 2 diabetes (my mmol was 55). Now from what I can gather from the good people on this forum, the reading I had was not terrible, but neither...

Where's everybody from? And what do you do for work?

Absolutely! I confess I really miss Wales, but I try to return as much as possible. We are moving to Weston-Super-Mare in the late summer, so I'll be able to get back to Swansea quite easily ... and maybe see the occasional international on home territory ☺

Where's everybody from? And what do you do for work?

I live in Stafford, UK, and a couple of months ago I opted for early retirement. When I was working, my job was to write bids and fundraise for charities. Nowadays, I am a lot happier taking lots of photographs and birdwatching.
