    Reversed diabetes

My last A1c was 30. I consider myself still T2 because I know that if I went back to eating lots of carbs my BG would go haywire again. My GP is clueless and the DN a horrible creature. I didn't rely on them in any way, shape or form. Thank God for the internet!

Are you T2?? On any medication? I had no idea this could happen!

My hair has thinned horribly. Been low carb for 13 months now. Devastating!

    Lidl high protein roll

I could eat three, nae bother, cos I'm a greedy beast. However, I only eat one every few weeks. I'd rather save my carbs for yogurt and berries [emoji16]

What does alcohol do to you?

Only thing I notice is that you get drunk much quicker. I started low carb a year ago, upon diagnosis. No booze for 3 months, then a works night out. I was asleep in the toilets by 10pm. Mortifying!!

    Lidl's Low Gi rolls.

You can also buy them here, along with fresh baked bread and rolls that are supposed to be low carb. They also sell "diabetic" sweeties, but beware the gummi bears unless you are actively in pursuit of Intestinal Armageddon. http://www.avidlite.co.uk/acatalog/BREAD.html

    Pain in legs and feet

If it is neuropathy (only a doctor can tell you) you might be interested to hear about Alphalipoic Acid (ALA). My sister and I both take it. I buy it on Amazon. It has helped both of us with numbness and burning in the feet and lower legs. Lots of research supports its efficacy...

Thanks! I got it to 42 doing the Newcastle, then started low carb, with intermittent fasting. My GP is pleased, even if the nurse isn't [emoji23]

    Diagnosed today with little support!

Hello and welcome. Sorry you have an unempathetic GP. The GOOD news is that you've got the chance to get this sorted before it gets the chance to turn into full blown diabetes! Follow the advice here (ignoring the outmoded advice to eat carbs every meal) and you'll feel lots better in no time...

I agree it's confusing! We want to lower our insulin. I suggest looking up Dr Jason Fung on YouTube. Also, Prof Roy Taylor. And the dietdoctor.com website! The diabetic nurse at my practice is a horror too. She kept telling me we NEED carbs. I had quite the argument with her about it. She made a...
