Any recommendations Libre vs Dexcom G5?

Good luck with it; I hope it works out. I have just finished my second week with my G5 and it is reading just as well as before. Although starting to fall off a bit now.

    Apple Watch UK - G5

In case anyone is interested, I went ahead and tried it out. Seems to work well so far, updating onto the watch pretty much instantly. Image attached. It does show the trending arrow next to the glucose number when there is one.

    1.7mmol hypo

Did you inject in the same place as you usually do? I have had that happen once before (dropped 5 mmol in 30 mins) following a Lantus/basal injection. I'm almost certain it was because I injected into a different place in my thigh where there was less fat and likely hit a muscle. It did bleed a...

Any recommendations Libre vs Dexcom G5?

A positive for the Libre is that it gives you a reading every minute as opposed to every 5 minutes with Dexcom. You only get the benefit of this if you are checking it that frequently, though, since for the purposes of the graph, the Libre aggregates the data and plots 1 point per 15 minutes...

    Apple Watch UK - G5

I have but do not currently have an Apple Watch. I would likely buy one though if the app works as intended. It seems to sync pretty much exactly with my Dexcom app without a delay. I see no reason why it shouldn't follow through to the watch but it would be helpful if anyone is able to confirm.

Any recommendations Libre vs Dexcom G5?

Yes, the Libre lasts 14 days and then shuts down. The G5 lasts 7 days before you have to restart the sensor. As to how long you can get out of the G5 sensors in total, I cannot say yet from experience but perhaps someone else can comment on this. I have just recently restarted mine and am...

    Apple Watch UK - G5

Hi, I, like others I am sure, have been disappointed to find out that Dexcom do not currently provide Apple Watch compatibility for their app outside of the US (at least not in the UK). I've just seen that a third party app, Sugarmate, is available outside of the US as of late February 2017...

Any recommendations Libre vs Dexcom G5?

Hi Kat, I was diagnosed with T1 a couple of months ago (seems longer) and have recently considered the same issue as you. I tried out both the Libre and Dexcom G5 in the last couple of weeks (with an overlap week where I wore them both to see how the numbers compared). Whilst I think there...

    Blood meter reading discrepancies

Thanks for your replies. I agree that I need to find a meter that works for me and stick with it. Bluetit1802, I really do not mind which of the meters is correct (I only lean towards the Glucomen reading too high because my Libre sensor more closely matches the lower readings). The issue I...

    Blood meter reading discrepancies

Hi, This is my first post here since being diagnosed T1 about a month ago. Essentially, I have 2 meters for reading blood glucose at the moment: the Glucomen LX2 and the Freestyle Libre (which uses the same strips as the Freestyle Optium). I have read around and am aware that there will be...
