BS levels good but symptoms keep coming

I was waiting for my retinopathy check which I passed last week before investing in new specs. Now is the time I think

BS levels good but symptoms keep coming

Sounds maybe a good idea. Think I could have got a little complacent getting down to the 5’s. So easy to slip. I keep off all the nasties but the odd slices of granary creep in!!

Just had my first screening after 6 months! Technician couldn’t see picture clearly enough because of cataracts but senior technician wrote with the all clear. Another hurdle crossed’

BS levels good but symptoms keep coming

Although my BS levels are in the 4.9 to 5.9 range I still get blurred vision occasionally and the need to go to the loo a lot! Also cold feet sometimes. So the simple question is - even if you keep your levels under control do the symptoms of type 2 keep going - albeit not so bad ? As a little...

    My third HbA1c

I’m not so regimented I’m afraid to say . Normally test on waking, before lunch, after lunch and then bedtime. Lows are normally before lunch. I’m careful with carbs but find if I limit them to approx 80 a day I average 5.5. You have done exceptionally well from 16.6 down to 5 ish ! I shall...

    Confusing labels

    My third HbA1c

Well today my third test - results next week! I was 7.1 eight months ago which reduced to 6.1 after five weeks. Have lost 4 stone and kept to a fairly strict diet with I suppose a little more wine than I should have. I started meter reading 7 weeks ago as I thought being in the dark was...

    Type 2 High Heart rate

Yes had my wife take it and it was 65. My finger app says approx 70 so maybe pulse counter on bp monitor is faulty. At docs last it was elevated to about 95 - white coat syndrome - hence I take my own bp for them. Time for a new machine I think - reasonably inexpensive. At least my sugars and...

    Type 2 High Heart rate

I take my bp with a monitor that reads pulse at 130+. I have a finger app that reads it normal at 70 to 80 and my wife read it at 68. Could the monitor be faulty or ??? I have no symptoms of tachycardia

    Type 2 High Heart rate

Have lost 4 stone is 8 months. BP down to normal - a big reduction. Sugars average 5.5 down from 7.1. Only worry is a high pulse rate - is this normal with all the changes? A normally anxious person anyway. Feel much better too!

    Not coping :(

I was extremely depressed on diagnosis but then started the low carb diet! Have lost nearly 4 stone in 7 months, reduced blood sugars and blood pressure to normal - no mean feat at age 70. Still working full time - tied to a desk! Feel much better lately I think for the weight loss but also...

    Confusing numbers

It shows the low carb diet works - only downfall is my love of bread! Would the HbA1c number be the average of those in taking?
